I have ordered the "24mbs". I got the new modem yesterday and am just waiting on them to flip the switch on (or before, hopefully) March 8th.

What do these upgrades mean ? Are they for UPC (cable) or DSL ? I'm on the Blanch exchange and the most I can currently get is 3mb DSL, while UPC dont offer cable yet. Will these upgrades change that ?

You won't notice any difference unless you change your package to one of the new ones.

I was experiencing the drastic 3pm - midnight contention issues (eircom 3mb, but only getting 0.3 Mbps during those hours) since early Feb., until this week (22 Feb). I'm in Dun Laoghaire area - anyone else experience an improvement in this area?

This is typical for my 3 Mbps package for the past year - with the exception of the past month. FYI - I did log a complaint 2 weeks ago. As far as I'm concerned, after 2-3 weeks consistently of 10% of normal bandwidth during peak hours, my service has returned to normal.

None. I wasn't contacted or anything - I just noticed it was okay again.
