Can any of you snow buffs help me?? Travelling with a friend to Lyon on Friday 12 March to go skiing in Val d'Isere for a week. Meeting up with friends who are flying in from the UK in the resort on Saturaday. Have accomodation booked in Val for Sat to Sat.

Problem is ......On Friday 12th March we will get bus from Lyon to Bourg St. Maurice. I can't seem to find ANYWHERE that will give us one night accomodation in Bourg or in Val for the Friday night. Getting desperate!! Has anyone stayed in Bourg before and can recommend a hostel / hotel / B&B etc. Also have the option of staying in Val if anyone knows of anywhere there either.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe contact the local tourist office and ask them to help you? Or else stay in Lyon the Friday night in a Formule One or something like that el cheapo and travel up to resort on Saturday morning?

Thanks for that. However, want to avoid staying in Lyon as rest of punters heading to Val will arrive Sat morning and transfer time turns from 3hrs on Friday afternoon / evening to up to 7 hours on Saturday morning / afternoon.

Just found lots of info on a Les Arc site about Bourg. Thanks for that!

If that doesn't work, try Hotel Malgovert in Seez. It's not on-line, but they always seem to have beds. And not expensive.
