    What Cup series?

Awesome race. I was rooting for Papis at the end, god damn, he did the same thing Ambrose did last year at the last chicane, and just lost out in the drag race to the line. I was thrilled when Robby ran out of fuel, and to a slightly lesser extent when Edwards broke the rear sway bar.

    Montreal just hates Ambrose. :(

There was no Cup series this week, it was an off week. Montreal always takes places on a Cup off week. Except for next year when it moves to a Saturday because the Cup will be at Michigan on the Sunday :(

By "what Cup series?" i wasnt asking in very bad English why there wasnt a Cup race this week, it was a sly comment that with a Nationwide race like that who needs the Cup series.

I then attempted to make a humorous remark that you had misread my post, and compared your literacy to that of Steven Wallace's driving, i.e., not very good.

I'm just going to stop now

I didn't get it either just so you know. :pac:

First full live race I'll be watching in full in a while, the pre-race stuff is bordering on scary.

can be very cringe worthy alright

Edit:cheers for posting btw had forgotten all about this

Fancy Montoya to either finish top 5 or not finish tonight.

No bother btw, forget fairly easily myself, only remembered because there was no IndyCar this week. :pac:

Oh wow, didn't realise it was this early. I know it's a night race, but still...

Stupid yanks with their different timezones, always have to be different!

Gonna take something changing a lot for Edwards to lose this race it seems, don't think there'll be a massive change in the track since the whole race is under the lights.

Nice. :pac: 3 chasers to the back now, should be entertaining from here on.

Great finish! Girlfriend was moaning (only watched last 20 laps) at me for watching it but then she got really excited when Stewart's fuel ran out :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Karma. Not bad karma for Tony, but good karma for Clint dominating!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

****ing slept through the start of this one, see Johnson is P1 so it's looking good. :pac:

Dammit, was emptying the dishwasher, come back to find Dinger demoted to the end of the lead lap

Not a JJ fan then? ;)

I'm very happy that Denny Hamlin is leading the chase at the moment and i'll hope he'll be champion this year. If he doesn't, I wouldn't mind if Kyle Busch did.

Just a headsup, only Saturday race of the chase (I think) tonight in Charlotte.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Well, regardless of when it is/was, too busy at Eirtakon this weekend to watch/have watched.

Damn, the Chase really is a pain on those outside having no chance despite a late show of force.

True that. Also I really think the qualification for the chase should be changed to promote going for wins earlier in the season, as in a win gets you into it rather than 10 bonus points if you do get in.

Has anyone been to the Daytona 500? My girlfriend wants to go to Harry Potter World in Florida but I have ideas for how to entertain myself too :D Had a look at the website, tickets seem pretty expensive - where is the best spot and is it worth it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Missed the start, stupid sleeping all day made me miss Arsenal's best result of the season too, sigh. Anything of note happen yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Missed the start too, but reading this on the NASCAR site:
"Slight contact with Jimmie Johnson has ruined a good start for Marcos Ambrose, who rolled off second at Martinsville and led 40 laps."

    ****er. Mother-****ing-****er.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Saw that bit, Ambrose put himself on the outside with a mistake, someone passed him and Johnson got inside, Ambrose tried to keep it tight and got burned.

Some amount of breaks, and I thought TNT were bad. :pac:

    Hi,
I'm new here and I do not have the answer to your question but heard from some my folks Daytona is a wonder. By the way Florida is an awesome place but never had the time to visit Harry Potter's World.

Race starts in just over 30 minutes! With DST no longer in effect here, it's only 4 hours back now!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

NASCAR are going to have to intervene with a caution soon, and cautions breed cautions. :P

Pity there no decent free live timing around, they seem to be showing as little info as possible on the ticker this weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Yup, there's nothing really there for live timing other than the official site, which is a couple laps back as well: http://www.nascar.com/races/leaderboard/cup/race/

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Really can't see the wisdom is letting Hamlin go a lap down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Well there comes the first real caution of the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Wow, how has the Big One not happened twice already yet? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

That was uncalled for. It was all on the apron. Seriously, BS call for a yellow.

Looks to all be on the apron, aye. Such a pity to interrupt what was developing just for that. Should be a fun end but there was no need for it.

EDIT: Would love to see Hornish get a good finish.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Allmendinger going to be sore after that, ****in hell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

    Damn that was a finish.

Now to wait several days for NASCAR to decide who finished where...

I thought for sure Kyle was going to spin out but he heldit its, just crazy what that kid can do with a race truck/car

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,801 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Well, that whole Kyle Busch scenario was really retarded. They tell the drivers that this year to "Have at it, boys", and yet because KB gives the official the finger after being told he's being held a lap for speeding to beat the pace car off of pit road - and then gets held another two laps? And yet JJ got away with it at Martinsville earlier this season? Get real...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Have at it is one thing, they don't like swearing though.

Love the crowd reaction there. :pac:

This has been entertaining so far :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭speedboatchase

So Harvick, Hamlin, Johnson - who's going to win it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

So hard to call. Johnson loves the 1.5 mile ovals but still it's a bit of a gap to make up unless he can get pole as well. Going to be entertaining anyway! ^_^

On another note, was the last race shown on Open Access? I wasn't watching it but flicked on and off and didn't notice it being on.

no it wasn't only caught the last 80 laps on justin tv myself

    We're green!

Give it about 150 laps before the championship battle really drills down. They're still pretty much around their starting positions for the moment.
