Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My son was playing his Xbox when the game play froze. He turned if off and when it made its usual shutting down noise it also made a small high pitched sound.
Now it won't go back on, no lights at all. I have checked the fuse in the plug and its ok. I also used a circuit tester to check the power in the cable at the xbox end and its saying there is power. Any Ideas??

try using the tray open button . when its off if you hit that it turns on and ejects a disk . might be a problem with the power on button for example . or you could try turning it on using the xbox logo button on the console

    update:
if there are no power lights on at all and your cables are all connected fine then the console needs repairs . assuming its in warranty(under 3 years old and never opened up) go here
    http://www.xbox.com/support/ (http://www.xbox.com/support/)
if your not in a supported region then go here
    http://www.xbox.com/support/contact (http://www.xbox.com/support/contact)

if warranty is out you will have to find a 3rd party to get it fixed although i dont know any myself so you will have to go looking. best of luck let me know how it works out.

update AGAIN: right i went looking about more through some forums . a lot of people have problems with bent usb pins . where the pins are touching or grounding in some way you have to straighten them out . there are 2 usb ports at the front and on at the back below where the audio/visual cable goes. barring this i cant find anything else to help sorry mate :(
