Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Distant memories..

I think he means Alonso's; Mikel vs. Xabi.

I went to the Rayo Vallecano match last night and it was fascinating. The first Friday night match they've played and after 15 minutes the ultras all exited and left a banner saying "No to Friday night football" in their place. It was surreal.

I thought it was some Spanish word I had never heard of!

    Apologies Mike.

No worries. I'd wondered what had happend to Mikel, I knew he'd been at Bolton but wasn't sure where he was now.

Anyone else disappointed not to see Pedro get a call up to the national side this week ?

I was actually gutted for him but with Mata to compete against I suppose its tough competition.

I dont think he will make the World cup squad now. Thats a shocker when you think about it considering the season he has been having. Any other team in the world he is in the squad. Just goes to show the ridiculous wealth of talent Spain have all over the pitch.

Raul is now joint 3rd, level with di Stéfano on the la liga all time goal scoring table with 227.

The pace on the ball when Ibra strikes a free-kick is frightening.

    Barca feeling the pressure redout?

what happened? how is the league so close? i thought Barca had a pretty decent lead a while back, distinctly remember someone saying that the league was over and that they wouldnt lose it from the position they were in?

im asking genuinely, i havent seen much la liga in the last 3-4 months

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Nah. Barca lost to Atleti, and all of a sudden they are fallible again. They had a 5 point lead up until then.

The only difference is that Real are genuinely looking unbeatable at the moment.

Torres off at half time to save him from being sent off, according to the commentators Duda is at left back, Malaga looking for a point

Ibra is Berbatov except better and not as lazy.

actually I will change that slightly and add he is like Berba but far more consistant.

Berba is very consistent when playing though

his goal scoring ratio to games started this year is impressive even though he is being nursed along with an injury

very similar styles of play and touch alright

Ibra has more goals this season for Barca so far than Berba had in the whole of last season for United. Thats not bad considering he just came out of a near 2 month goal drought. Kryogen I agree that I see many similarities between the two. Thing is Berba just doesnt show them as much.
