Portlaoise Educate Together National School are holding a
public meeting and launch of their Pre-enrolment List, on
Thursday 11th March, in the Heritage hotel at 8pm. The
purpose of the meeting is to provide information and hold a
public launch of the pre-enrolment list which will be
strictly on a first come first served basis. The school will
    be open from Sep 2010.

    Hi Kideez,
Where will the Educate Together School in Portlaoise be housed?
Isn't there a shortage of school buildings already and nothing can be built before 2010? Will it be prefabs somewhere?

Excellent meeting last night, well attended and very informative. The school is definitely opening this September, accomodation obviously being a major issue between now and then. Apparently there are a number of buildings available for rent, with the the Department confident that a 'proper' school can be built in the next 2 or so years. The speakers were fairly adamant that prefabs, etc, were not going to be used, or at least thats my take on it. Either way, finally a bit of choice in the area for what is the most important gift we can give our children - education. Or else an Xbox.:D

They are multi-denominational and co-educational. So mixed gender, and not run by any religious denomination (like about 95% of primary schools currently).
