They removed references to the 650ti, changed memory to 3GB ect.

Yep, some are cancelling their orders. Even though I think the guy is telling the truth, there have been a number of trolls in the hotukdeals thread, so I'll wait until a few others substantiate the claim.

when I contacted amazon , they said they know the picture is incorrect, but if I will order now, I will be getting MSI AMD card, rather than the one on the picture

What of those that already received the 650ti cards, I wonder?

It's crazy that amazon have left this so long with out fixing the problem. Everyone apart from them knows it's a mistake. The ASIN is linked to a 650 ti

I think they were not sold by amazon. If you want to buy from amazon , est. delivery is 2-4 weeks
Anyway, I ordered one, as I have this confirmed by them it is msi7950. If they will send me 650ti, I can return it no hassle.

So now amazon have stopped selling the 7950/650ti saying many customers have received an item that was not as described. But it is still available from other sellers.

However the picture has been update to show the 7950 when it had previously shown the 650ti
So now the picture and item description match

The plot thickens. That's so tempting man... I just don't have the money to put up front haha. Will someone take the risk for me (and return if it doesn't turn out to be what it is marked to be), I'll give you something in return, we can figure something out HAHA. I'm half serious like. LOL.

What do people make of the following Sandisk SSDs? They're reduced for today only according to a thread in BA.

    http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/extreme/

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006EKIQYM/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers

Seems like they were quite expensive to begin with, but I haven't been shopping around yet (despite needing a new drive after I lost a few to a bad PSU).

The extremes are pretty decent drives, although I wouldn't be unduly influenced by the massive original RRP, it is priced around the same as many other 500GB SSDs.

There is a review of the Samsung 840 here which features a good few of the SSDs in the same sort of price range as the extreme (840,M4 etc)

Haha 7200rpm in the title on amazon.

The Sandisk Extreme is not a bad drive. I have a cheaper version in my HTPC and it's doing okay. It's a Sandforce drive but tweaked a bit, so expect maybe slightly better performance than the likes of the OCZ Vertex 3, maybe more in line with the Intel 520 (but they don't offer 500GB sizes, and the larger sizes often perform best).

In the same price range is the Samsung 840.
The Samsung has got a slightly larger capacity (500GB vs 480GB) going for it and should do better with incompressible data. On the other hand writes will be a bit slower and you might want to leave that extra bit of space free as performance can degrade if it doesn't have a chance to perform TRIM operations after deleting data to rejuvenate its performance.

I'd say that you wouldn't really notice much difference between the two.

    £279.99 = €328.52

The normal price for this item on hardwareversand is €328 http://www.hardwareversand.de/articlesearch.jsp

Amazons lower shipping cost is the only saving here.
It's the same story for the lower capacity drives too.

Thats what I wanted to say too. Amazon can have very stupid RRP prices. I noticed that when I am bargain buying Lego sets.

I took the chance on it when it was a bit cheaper (£155 delivered including irish VAT), though still expecting it to be cancelled or something. Dispatch slated for 20th June

Amazon cancelled the order the pillocks!

    The exact statement

"We’ve learned that due to a catalogue error the ASIN B00C1ZHT24 actually refers to the item MSI R7950-TF-3GD5/OC-BE-G Bundle: R7950 Twin Frozr Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB OC DVI HDMI 2 x Mini-DisplayPort + Includes Far Cry 3 Game

We can appreciate that this wasn’t what you expected when you placed your order
. We’ve therefore cancelled this item from your order and you haven’t been charged for it."

It was exactly the product i was expecting!

Ah well - no harm done i guess

Yeah im being all passive agressive with an amazon rep on chat - poor bastard! In fairness he is dealing with it pretty well, id say they get some abuse!

In fairness to Amazon they are a great company to deal with. There was a user on here who managed to crushed the pins on his 1155 socket and they replaced the moderboard at no cost even though he admitted fault.

I guess the cost of this would be far too much for them to bare though losing 100 rrp on each card.

I wonder will amazon continue to be as easy to deal with in the future if the laws change and they have to start paying tax. :P

Seems to be the cheapest around at the moment for this processor :)

    Ebuyer don't ship here.

    Besides, it's 19p cheaper on scan.co.uk.

Was about to say, parcelmotel is always an option. Either way it's not really a bargain.

Do they post the boxes and such for all the parts for the build, or just assemble, and ship the tower completed in a box?

From the reports we've had back here, they seem to post all the leftover additional parts as well but throw out a few of the boxes on the way.

Still a good price though and i presume free del too?

Never buy in EUR if it's a foreign website they charge you conversion charges, it's a trick.

If you buy in GBP your bank converts it for a lot less. go to "change currency" before buying it

I'll let you know what it actually comes out at I would say something like 176
