Jaysus, did Razor made sweet love to your mum and ran off with your Lego?

I like Deathadder, but I dont buy any other of their products. Thats the beauty of being a human and have free will. I dont need to love or bash all products by one company just blindly and stupidly.

I'm not stopping anyone free will. I'm giving my opinion which I'm entitled to the same as you are to yours.

There are better mice than the deathadder for the money. That's Razers standout product and it's not even the best in it's class.

    Just some corrections.

There's no minimum spend to get the code to work.
Free shipping is on orders over €59, not €99.

The minimum spend was for free shipping. Despite what it says it is €99 not €59. Try it and see for yourself.

1st, You said you had to spend "€200 on a single item to get that discount code to work", you did not say that it was a minimum spend for free shipping (which is wrong anyway), hence my accurate correction.

2nd, Maybe you should have taken your own advice ;)

To qualify for free shipping (to ireland, where we are) you must spend a minimum of €59.

Are you just ignoring deceit's post (twice) for shits and giggles?

Giving your opinion is one thing, calling out others fanboys is another.

We get it, you dont like Razor as most likely it touched you inappropriately at some point in your life, but you just come out worse then a Fanboy at this point.

I did not even bothered with Razor sale as I know I dont need anything from them, but I know others do see some good value in their products at one or another price point. I got G27 steering wheel off logitech themselves, but only after it was on sale for 150eu, not 300eu. The Value of item is only as high as someone is willing to pay for it. For 60eu Deathadder is a great value for me so far, even if it goes in flames tomorrow.

It was already pointed out that you were wrong about the sale conditions too. If Razor is so horrible, then why you even bothered looking at their sale so?

    So many butthurt Razer owners...

When I tried it it notified me that the minimum spend for free shipping was €99. If it is €59 fine I was wrong. It doesn't change my opinion.

At 50% off there are some decent deals if the item is €120 or more. I was looking for a decently priced mechanical keyboard myself but the lack of Cherry switches is off putting even at that price.

None of them are in stock now anyway.

If you feel insulted by the term fanboy you need to grow up.

Why was I looking? The only way I'd consider buying a razer product would be at 50% off which would be fairly priced for what they are.

You need to try a lot harder to insult me, but for a grown up forum like this ( where we dont even have intel vs AMD or Nvidia vs Amd fanboy riots ), you came out a bit childish yourself m8.

All in all, it is a complete off topic and we should better wrap it up, it is dragged enough to a bad side already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

I wasn't trying to insult anyone though. However your thinly veiled insults directed at me were childish at best and you are clearly butthurt about my negative opinion of Razer which is total fanboyism.

    Grow up.

Hardly, I don't own a single razer product.
I do take issue with dishonest people, whether intentional or through repeated, insistent ignorance - calling those people out with black and white facts and truth is pretty easy.
...But yeah, butthurt razer owners m'kay :pac:

    What's with all the hostility?

It was an honest mistake based on the information on their site when I tried to order.

    Get off your high horse.

How can I, the view is so nice from up here...clip clop...

Hey, hey hey...maybe don't insult people if you don't want to face "all the hostility" precious.

Who did I insult? Did I direct any insults at anybody in here?

I expected some backlash from Razer owners as it's usually the case when I call Razer out for what they are.

You're only a Razer fanboy if you act like one and feel the need to defend them by insulting anyone who dares offer a negative opinion of them as a company.

Shouldn't you be trawling the forums to correct anyone else who might have made a mistake?

So you call out Razer for what they are all the time, yet were trying to buy one of their keyboards??

And their was no backlash until you started labelling people as fanboys. Seriously. Grow up.

Anyway, Yeah, I guess I should be off, hi ho silver....

In case you weren't able to decipher my problems with Razer products from my previous posts maybe I need to reiterate it for you in more simple terms.

Razer products are overpriced for what they are. Their inflated prices cover their large marketing costs which works for them and has made them very successful.

However they do not offer the best products for their price range and as I have stated twice already that I would consider buying certain products at a 50% discount as that price reflects the products value.

I never called anyone in here a fanboy. The only people who could take issue with that are the actual fanboys. If you like Razer products that's fine.

Who are you defending? What are you defending?

Why are you upset by someone using the term fanboy which was not even directed at any individual in here?

It was clearly a rhetorical question - I already had all the answers I needed, but thanks anyway. :)

I'm glad you feel better about yourself now.

My grievances with Razer stand and that promotion is a joke. If you weren't lucky enough to grab 1 of the very limited €129 keyboards within minutes of the promotion going live you stood 0 chance of getting anything as Razer does not allow more than 1 product per discounted order.

You can't even take the discount on 1 item and then grab something else at full price to get the price up to the free shipping amount.

But hey what do you expect it's Razer. Just a smart way of getting more traffic onto their store without actually offering much to customers.

At least Razer put out a good left handed mouse. Shame about their **** software, so I can't really recommend them freely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,750 ✭✭✭john the one

Anyone know of i7 4790k's on sale or discount codes for one? Have the mono so just waiting on a decent price on one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,297 ✭✭✭N64

Razer will be doing another sale later on this month because they messed up the sale big time. They swapped the two discount codes so the one displaying for the laptop was actually the one you were supposed to use for the peripherals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

I kinda appreciate the comments from both sides on Razer above.

Personally I find Razer to be very poorly built products with a very short shelf life. They were obviously have large PR campaigns, sponsoring prominent pro teams and twitch.tv streamers, and prey on the "A teenager will buy the equipment of the pro he watches" which is a pretty good base to work from, and it's not far from the truth.

Two of my friends have full Razer peripherals simply because they support CLG in League of legends. These same two lads also bought the exact same mouse and keyboard again, just because it got a CLG branding. (Ithink they did anyway)

I have a Deathadder mouse, as I got it on a big Razer sale and got it for 50% off about two year ago. I mostly bought it to see what the fuss was about. Picked up a mousemat aswell as well, its a mouse mat so you can't really **** it up.

I could really take or leave the Deathadder. It's not better then my MX518, which I still change to now and again.

I've tried a Razer headset and it was utter garbage. I tried their mechanical keyboard and while it was ok (nothing special) there is enough reports globally of their short lifespan to turn me off. I bought a CM Qck for €60, nearly half the price of the Razer, and it's tremendous.

I guess like so many things, your paying extra for the flashy looks and the logo. Performance wise and quality wise, there is no value in a Razer product.

So, basically Razer are the Beats of gaming gear?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 937 ✭✭✭Dair76

Had a Copperhead years ago and really liked the performance and ergonomics, but the scroll wheel wore out pretty quickly. I expected better given the price I paid.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,767 ✭✭✭SterlingArcher

Dont like razor. To me, they're like alienware. Brand hype.which is not my bag.

I better not use the word fan boi. It seems that it is now considered offensive to poor bubblegum pop sensitive souls.

    sweetie wrote: »

Pretty accurate comment. Although granted when Beats first came out and their construction and technology were being run by Monster Cable inc., they were technically, a sight to behold.

But they severed ties with Monster and went off and cut corners on quality to gain a higher margin on the brandname that had been created.

Like if I was buying a new mouse tomorrow I'd go back to Logitech.
If I was buying a headset I'd get the Kingston Hyper X cloud
If I was buying a keyboard I'd go for a more specialised mechanical one( moreso then what I have now)

I wouldn't call it fanboi. I think its just consumers who maybe are putting too much weight into what the pros are using, and what they are recommending. They would tell you smoking is brilliant and helps improve their performance, if they got paid enough to do it. A gamer who streams or plays proffesionally will just say whatever they are sponsored with is brilliant.

And it just so happens for a good while, Razer were going OTT with sponsorship.

Logitechs mechanical keyboard entry is actually getting rave reviews.

There is no problem with buying something because X recommended it, thats fine. Sure the headset I've been buying for years ( Steelseries Siberia) came from me always watching CS player and early WoW player using them, so I "assumed" they were the best.

My beef with Razer is mostly down to their outspoken CEO who bangs on like he is redefining gaming peripherals, when in fact Razer really hasn't been inventive at all, their mainstay products are the same as everything else, a bit slicker looking, and typically more expensive.

When it comes to keyboards Filco are lightyears ahead of anyone else imo.

Cost you a bomb but you actually get a quality product.

I wouldn't swap my Filco for anything.
