    See Gordon's post above.

A request has to made to Site Development.

I PM'd the OP and he says that he is happy to put the request in which is why I didn't.

Might be in vain anyway but sure can't hurt.

TCN is a forum for threads too lacking in substance for AH...

Seriously - the shame of getting one of your threads moved to TCN is baaaad.

Happened to me once, i nearly cancelled my internet service and put my laptop up for sale

That's not nice. I'm sending back any AH thread I find from now on, edited specially for snyper until he apologises or bribes me. A night out with Tar is also acceptable.

TCN is for threads that are too stupid for any other forum. Stupid doesn't have to mean bad. The fact that so many bad threads are coming from AH these days is more a commentary about AH posters than anything else.

TBH the last good thread they kicked over there was the tea, coffee, bovril thread.

It's in the midst of it. Kiera & co. turned it into a flirt fest so it was kicked in to your court from AH.

No, the OP is Sitebanned, there is a difference.

    Why this. ??

If you are banned from a forum you cannot post there until your ban is up.

If you are Sitebanned you can only post in The Prison Forum.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,689 ✭✭✭✭OutlawPete

Yes, I am aware of that.

The OP is still "Banned" though.

That's all I was saying in my reply to the poster.

    Why not reply and say:

"Yes, he is "Banned", in fact he is "Sitebanned".

Why the "No", implying that what I had said was wrong?

  • Registered Users Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

    Because you were wrong.

People new to boards have to see the difference between being "Banned" which I explained above, and being Sitebanned.

If a user is Sitebanned they can only start a thread in Prison and they can only reply in Prison.

I think OutlawPete should be sitebanned just to make sure he understands the difference. ;):pac:

    Because you were wrong.

    I am not "wrong".

I said the OP is "Banned" and he is.

If you want to add to that and say he is sitebanned, fine - but that does not make me wrong for saying he was banned.

I am a member since 2005 and I am well aware of what a 'siteban' is thanks.

The member that I replied to is NOT "new to Boards", he's been a member longer than you have.

I was putting it out there for new users that might come across posts like yours about a user being "Banned".

I pointed out the difference between being "Banned" and being "Sitebanned ".

I pointed out the difference between being "Banned" and being "Sitebanned ".

MODs and regular members refer to 'Sitebanned' users all the time as just being 'Banned', it's quite common.

I think it is pedantic of you to say I am "Wrong", just because I said that the OP is 'Banned'.

You could have posted your 'Banned vs Sitebanned" explanation for newbies anyway with being so condescending.

If you have such strong feelings about 'Sitebanned users' being refereed to as being 'Banned users', then perhaps you should suggest in Feedforward, that in future all 'Sitebanned' users taglines reflect that they are in fact Sitebanned, rather than just the current 'Banned'.
