This is horrible. I haven't seen it but the look on everyone's face means it must be horrendous. I hope Ramsey recovers fully.

They normally dont show replays of injuries like this do they?

Replay is "Very upsetting and pretty sickening"

When they don't show the replay you know it's bad

Even without the replay, you could see his leg hanging at an awful angle. Poor lad, wish him a speedy recovery, he's one of the brightest talents in the league.

Not at all, He's British, he's a "tough" player, he can break whoever's leg he ****ing wants according to the media.

A similar one on Spanish football about 3 weeks ago and Sky showed it at least a dozen times.

Late and high tackle, wouldn't be feeling sorry for him imo

"Give the Stoke fans credit for giving sympathetic applause." Good one, don't mention the scumbags booing before. ****ing Sky commentators sicken me.

One of the few moments you can applaud Sky actually. They always do the right thing in these moments by not showing the replay. Get your gore fix online ffs.

Did anyone see it? Was it an accident or just a horrendous tackle from Shawcross?

Just rewinded it on Sky Plus. My god it seems like the top of his leg. Just completely bends :( Also, Shawcross's red card should be rescinded, It wasn't intentional at all, it wasn't high, it was just an unfortunate accident.

The chap just had his legged snapped, hardly something to be replaying.

Ah now come one, the lad was in tears afterwards. He'll have that hanging over him for weeks if not months. He clearly didn't mean to injure him.

    Talking through your arse brother.

3 weeks ago Felipe had a horror tackle and his leg was hanging off.

Thing was like at 90 degrees!

Sky showed it live and the replay about a dozen times.

    of course.

i just hope Wenger keeps his emotions in check unlike the Taylor incident, seen as Shawcross is in bits himself.

all the best to Ramsey. a really wonderful prospect.

It wasn't high, not sure the Red should be rescinded but I don't think there should be any more hand wringing about it. It was an accident.

Yup, bad tackle but he was distraught. No evil in it like there usually is in leg breakers.

So what if they did? Hardly their fault that Spanish tv provided them with the pictures.

I don't think anyone could do that intentionally and he did look a sorry state after it he didn't even seem to understand when he was given the card so obviously wasn't all there

I felt sick when I saw it. It was worse than Eduardos imo. No-one gonna be tackling heavy in this match again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,239 ✭✭✭KittyeeTrix

Just replayed it several times on sky+ and it was in no way deliberate. Sorry for Ramsey and Shawcross alike. You could see the lad was gutted.

Ramsey stuck his leg in just as Shawcross let fly at the ball....Unfortunate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

have watched it a few times, poor ramsey. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery. Although its in full speed i've watched it, i don't think it was a dirty tackle in the slightest, purely an accident.

Heh, just saw this edit on Wikipedia's Aaron Ramsey page.

"During the game again Stoke on 27 February 2009, Ramsey broke his leg in a tackle with Ryan Shawcrossand suddenly he died in hospital."

eh, you are aware they can cut away any time they so wish ?

At times they cut back to the studio when the pictures go on the blink.

    They chose to show it.

Sky don't produce the Spannish football. They basically re-broadcast the Spannish coverage and have no control over it, it's either on or off..

You could say most tackles are not dirty and npo player goes out to injure a player, thing is who knows what impact this will have on Ramsey now :(

Although Shawcross did look very upset, still though it will be Ramsey who will suffer

If you say so, sick of being on the receiving end of "tough", "hard"-playing teams and tackles to be perfectly ****ing honest.

Yes but think about how the different shows will be staffed. There would be countless Sky staff involved in the match at 4pm whereas there would probably be one or two junior staff involved in the Spannish football show.

Tbh they both just pulled on the ball at the same time. Ramsey got there first. It waas a foul, yeah probably a yellow but by no means deliberate. By no means reckless. Just an unfortunate accident. No doubt BBC will be jizzing themselves with being able to show it later
