If you are into intellectualising it and find Vladimir in Waiting for Godot an absolute hoot and laugh when he produces the carrot then this type of humour is not for you.

The Baseless Lie Thread has nothing to do with the Theatre of the Absurd and I dont think Beckett was a bounder for naming a play after a protagonist that never appears. I found it boring.

The humour of the Music Hall , Working Mans Clubs and Seaside Postcards may be old fashioned but it works. If you dont get the spontaneity of the thread and the trains of thought and characters people have within the thread then you are thinking far too deeply.

There is a bit of Wrestling thrown in too where you have Babyfaces and Heels.

Some of it is insult based but that is the genre.

Dont you think if you are planning to change the focus of the forum into a Dadaist, Surreal and whatever style forum that you should inform the users and let them decide if its worth the effort carrying on here or whether they should find a home somewhere else. Maybe its an invitation for us to migrate like the swallows.

The TCN is not mainstream and not for everybody. No one minds co-existing as we were happily doing before Sarky became mod and with no hassles but the users must want the change and not have it forced on us.

Actually we aren't changing the focus, when The Glorious Leader left boards the nest went into decline and so A Glorious Dicatory was installed to return it to how it is meant to be.

There have been complaints, there have been several warnings and locking of the thread and it being moved to the 'Dome and moved back and locked again.
Really what do people want for Sarky to come around to their house and brand the warning on to their chest?

A warning added to the very first post of the thread.

From now on there will be no personal abuse. There will be no abuse of the tags. There most certainly will be no complaining about this warning, which is the last I will ever make on this thread. You had three warnings previous to this. THREE. And they were ignored. If this one is ignored by anyone, this thread gets locked and it will not be coming back.

they want to get people who either posted back then or who are like them
