    Would you reckon he'd refer me to a psych ASAP or would it be a case of hospital?

    Its impossible for anyone here to answer your question, you really need to go back to your doctor, both for this query and your query in Biz.

    Its all dependent on context and what preliminary diagnosis the GP can make. If the GP feels its important enough, you would get to see someone promptly. Its for you and your health professionals to decide where to go from there. So just explain things as best you can to your GP, if your GP normally needs an appointment, just explain to the receptionist that you have a pressing problem and I'm sure something can be arranged.

    If you find your self in immediate need of care, you can present yourself at A&E for assessment.
