eircom broadband connection problem

I'm trying to set up the broadband for someone (should have said no, I know little about what I'm doing) It works fine up to putting in the ssid The wires are all connected right and the numbers&letters are all right, letters are in lower case too(as they should be) It just won't seem to connect. I could get it working…

I could get it working without a problem with the wire (but they want the wireless)

Set up a custom SSID and password.

Use WPA for security. Then connect.

Is it a new eircom router a Zxyel?

If you cant connect, disable the security and see can you connect. But make sure you dont leave it unsecured!!
