Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aer Lingus Advance Passenger Information

I'll be flying to the US soon with Aer Lingus, and only earlier on I read that I have to enter Advance Passenger Information (API).

I have done that now, but I'm wondering whether anyone has had problems with this at the airport, or has anyone been denied entry into the States due to this

    Thanks

The API won't have any effect on being let enter into the US (unless you're dodgy :p). It can be added up to the minute the flight is closed so once they have it before the flight takes off, it'll be fine :)

Great thanks :D I just only noticed it on their site yesterday, and wondered whether people have problems with it.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll hop aboard this old one. So do I have to pay 7 euro to enter my API for my trip to boston next week? After paying 14 dollars for my ESTA? I know it's only a poxy 7 yoyo's but still....

You don't pay to add API.

On a similar thread a while back it turned out that United don't allow you to submit the API data in advance so as an earlier poster has pointed out, it can be done up to the last minute. I believe Aer Lingus ask you to enter the data simply to speed up the check-in process.

What airline are you flying with and what website is asking for €7? This sounds a bit like the ESTA scam.

I'm flying aer lingus. I got an email from them asking me to complete the API. I clicked on 'manage flight' once I got onto the ear lingus website. Once ion the 'manage flight page, I clicked onto the API section. At, he bottom of the page there is a request for 7e once I complete this info.

€7 seems to be an admin fee.

Not sure why it's being charged for this though.

I've just completed my entering my own API details for an upcoming flight to Spain later this year. I was not prompted for any type of extra payment.

I often have no option but to provide the info at check-in with Aer Lingus for certain flights and there is no charge and it takes less than a minute.

Did you select a seat or book parking or do anything else that involves a charge? Entering the API data on the Aer Lingus website does not involve a charge.

OK,just completed my API. No charge. Dunno what I was looking at. Another question; Do I have to print off my Esta clearance notification? Or will the American customs know by my passport? Ta.
