    Hi all,

Just wondering which would be best for communicating car to car for recreational purposes over urban terrain within a five mile radius. Not interested in PMR446 as I've tried it, and its not very clear.

    What I'm looking at is

Two in-car CB radio sets & aerials

    Or

Two Motorola VHF radios (ex-police HT-series)

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

If you are not intrested in PMR446 then the only Option open to you is CB unless you want to pay comreg for a Licence for a PMR radio.

You cant just buy radios on ebay and use them where ever you wish.

A good CB with a Good Tuned Aerial would (should) do the Job
