Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Nikon D70 on auction, currently £99 here. Seems very cheap

Also a Canon EOS 20D body here or with Sigma 18-50mm lens, bag for €300 also available

I had never heard of 70D before, was looking at D40 (also available 'cheap' 2nd hand. What are the thoughts on the D70?
Basically I've got about €300 *or so* to get me started- what would you recommend (D3000 too expensive from what I see, Pentax K-M/K2000 seems good, Sony Alpha330, Olympus E420, 520).

    cheers,
    Pa.

God almighty. I can see why you made that suggestion the other day. I think you need a sub forum solely for YOUR buying threads

Apologies if I'm flooding the forum a bit :o...
Just find it hard to choose (will probably go with the Nikon D40) but just wanted to get some opinions/knowledge on the D70 etc.

I have a Canon 20 D and a Canon 450D and I have found that I constantly go back to using my 20D even though the 450D has higher resolution.

OP, I'd recommend going for the 20D. It's a fantastic piece of kit and will serve you for many years.

I haven't tried the Nikon tho so I can't comment on that camera. I'm sure its a good one.

The Nikon D70 that you mentioned has a bid of 99 pounds on it but thats not the asking price, its an auction so could go for a bit or a lot more at the finish. The D70 is a bit dated but I love my D70s which I use occasionally.
Good luck with whatever you decide to buy.
