I assumed this would be the right place for this.

Do you still get growing pains? I'm 19 nearly 20 and found myself with growning pains the other day. I was shock, because I thought I had the last of those years ago.

Are you of a similar age and still get them?

    I haven't grown an inch since I was 13.

Those growing pains were feckers though, don't miss them :p

Sure why would you? I couldn't sleep because I was in agony (I exaggerate because I'm a wuss) I was awake for 46 hours...

The sleep deprevation caused me to:
    • Spill tea on my laptop
    • Walk into a street lamp
    • Stand on my lizard* (He's grand)
    • Scream at my dad because he had a stupidd face
They can do strange things to you...

Don't think I've had these growing pains you speak of. Then again my growth spurts were always short lived, kept me short so they did.

My voice still cracks the odd time. I blame that on excess mucous though.

There's no scientific evidence for growing pains AFAIK. I've never experienced them, I've had mysterious mild muscle pains now and then, but you never know where they can come from, like it could be even sleeping in an awkward position...

I had terrible ones when I was around eight which resulted in me looking like beanpole and standing about two feet over all my friends:o

i never had growing pains but then again i'm only around 5 foot and haven't grown since probably national school.

i think i'd stick the pain for a few days if it meant i'd be taller but then again i probably regret saying this if i actually did get growing pains

And I'm nearly 17, so I've given up on any more growing at this stage.:(

I always get a really bad pain in my shin that my parent's always told me were growing pains, but I still get it even though I haven't grown since I was about 15 but I still get it when I've walked a lot, so I think my parents just lied to me to get me to shut up.

i'm seventeen in a couple of months aswell...
i'm still hoping i'll grow but it's looking very doubtful :(

I think I get them but it could be something else cause I don't grow, haven't for a long time actually. I would blame it on exercise but I can get them even if I'm just lying around the house for the day.. They're not nice anyways!:(

Could be you needing an insole of some sort. Most likely, thats you putting the weight on the wrong part of your foot when you walk and causing a pain in your shin. You should take a trip to your on-campus physio if you have one, tis' something that can be sorted very easily/cheaply.

I have some already, specially designed to my foot expensive arch support things, that they noticed my feet were slightly flat when I was in physio before. They do help, but if I ever forget to put them in I'm in agony all night.
So good call on that one

    Wth are growing pains?
Pains from growing, im guessing? :P

And i don't think I've had them and I'm like.. tall.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,419 ✭✭✭WanderingSoul

I've had them. According to my chiropractor they don't strictly exist as described (they're not actually pains from growing). Whatever they really are, they hurt!

I haven't had them in a few years. Have loads of stretch marks, though.... :p
