Have to say I think hes playing a blinder sofar.

The tunes in particular have really hit the spot. If he can keep that standard up he will be on to a winner. Never really 'got ' the Alison Curtis show but this is so much better.

I presume they are aiming at mainly the 18-34 age group with this show and if tonights is anything to go by they should get a very healthy listenership figures next time round for this slot.

    Who is KC?

    Todayfm now.

    I don't like him. I miss Alison. :(

    I'll give him a chance I suppose.

So far he's not impressing me with fresh new music, which is the main reason I listened to Alison Curtis. I'll never be up before 7am, and she'll probably have to play chart music then anyway.

I doubt that very much. Please post details of a source or is this just based on bullsh1t hearsay?

Just listening to the Ray Foley podcast from Wednesday March 3rd and they said something to the affect of

JP: "Some really bad news a big commiseration to KC was on the air for a couple of days and they have took him off again. Things aren't working out and they have replaced his show tonight (must of been the Paul McLoone thing then?)

    Ray: "ALISON'S COMING BACK!!!!!"

    JP: "Alison is coming back"

Ray: "If you check the fcking check the todayfm website it probably says Alison is coming back"

Has he been on the air since then? Just curious to know. Maybe the lads were just taking the mick.

What has become of Nothing but 90s? ?

I tuned in last night to get my fix of cheesey dance and instead I hear this Ray Foley soundalike playing bits from his show during the week. If I didn't want to hear it midweek why would I want to hear it again on a Friday night. As always the todayfm.com website has no updated info about a change in schedule:rolleyes:!

I gave KC a chance during his first week, but I just find it to be a dreadful two hours of brain draining radio to be honest. I've swiched over to Radio One in the late evenings instead.

tracey lee who presented nothing but 90s has moved from todayfm, so the slot is gone now no more nothing but 90s:(

He was on Today FM this morning. Played some great music but was spouting some dreadful rubbish in his links. Someone needs to tell him he's on grown up radio now.

That's sad to hear, surely Derek Flood would have been a perfect DJ for a 90s show given his time DJing on Atlantic 252.

Ah balls, I really liked Tracey Lee. Her choice of music was brilliant.

    Where's she gone to?

Still seems to think he is in Cork and not talking to a whole nation. Giving big shout outs to the lads in Pana and Kinsale. Going on about Rory Gallagher and the cafes in Cork.

Thats cool and all when you are on Red Fm but not to keep metioning it all the time on national radio. It gets pretty tiresome and reaks amateurism

But having listened to Ray D'arcy this morning I have to concede that it wasn't just KC talking rubbish in his links. Maybe it's station policy?

He didn't say pana - just to clear that up . Read out a few texts from Cork though. Which is fair enough. I enjoy your show KC . I just listened to it for 30 mins and you were on about Cork in it. Must have just been then.

    Best of luck

I'm the kid? Says the guy called "The banana"

I happen to like good radio. Like Foley, Moyles and KC. I also like long walks on t'beach, spaghetti and coca cola.

Glad you back tracked on that.. this guy has gone from regional to national. I have listened to him for years on the Redfm breakfast show and he is brilliant, and of course he has to give shout outs to cork! He has been on radio there for years and has a HUGE cork following, he owes it to them to mention their city a couple of times considering the whole city are tuning in to hear his new show for support!

KC is well worth the switch.

To be honest with you i think KC owes his success to Lenny. But thats just what i think. On the Cork thing, it is refreshing to hear someone on Todayfm that doesn't think it is only a Dublin station. A Mayo man talking about Cork in Dublin, refreshing.

So do a few of the links from the Dublin presenters that mention "in town tonight" or "O'Connell St" without saying which town, so it's not just a KC thing.

Just heard him and his sidekick interview the singer of that song Informer, it was pretty poor radio, in a desperate attempt to be funny they just threw veiled insults at the poor guy, just came across as rude and completely unfunny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,916 ✭✭✭NickDrake

Think he is doing very well overall and good to see a Cork boy there.

Wouldn't be a fan of all his music but he plays a mix I guess and Donie Dineen is on after so that is class obviously.

    Keep it up KC

    Awww, the poor guy.

He made a bloody awful song (albeit so bad it's good in some ways) which even clocked in at no. 33 in a list of the top 100 all time worst songs ever - not that I can say I 100% agree with that list, but I agree with the inclusion of "Informer"!

If I was interviewing him, I'm sure I'd rip the piss a bit too, in fairness!

I'd have loads of time for KC... particularly enjoy his show whenever I catch it - and personally, he's a really nice guy too - one of the nicest in radio in Ireland today.
