Why always with the reverse lunges, out of interest?

Why always with the reverse lunges, out of interest?

Because forward/normal lunges are a terrible exercise and will fcuk you up. With reverse lunges the "working" leg is firmly planted for the entire rep. With the forward lunges you are pretty much falling forward and stomping down with the "working" leg.

To be fair, that's just doing them badly.

With forward lunges you are beginning the exercise while the "working" leg is off the ground. With reverse Lunges you can set your stance up properly before beginning the movement. Anyhow I am off to get a pr on DB Bench, 40kg x 16 shall happen.

Good reviews on imdb and the likes. Less so from newspaper reviewers.

I would love to see a Godzilla film set back in the 1940. Imagine saving private Ryan but with Godzilla. Today the military is just too powerful for Godzilla or any Monster to pose a threat.

Hmmmm I think my note taking is misleading, when I say 130 x 10 I mean total reps so only 5 per side.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,602 ✭✭✭✭Alf Veedersane

    Oh. I feel cheated now.

Sure anyone could do it if it's 5 each side.

Tried some of those Reverse Lunges after seeing you do them,I now have a new favourite exercise.
After trying them,I have to say that 130KG reverse lunge for reps may very well be the most impressive lifts I've seen on boards.

To be honest you will increase the weight very very rapidly. Just make sure you have the safety bars set at the correct height so you can bail if you get in trouble. It's also a very easy lift on your lower back and requires very limited ankle mobility so it could be an option if someone had issues with these two areas.
