Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Quick query ,
I have 2 lets call them crappy lappies , One is very old the other is older , Both run fine , But for the hell of it before they get sent to Lappy heaven

What is a good OS to install on them

    Laptop 1: Samsung NV5000

    Laptop 2: Latitude CPi I think .

yes they are very crap but some messing can be done with them Have installed XUbuntu on the NV5000 before but it was a little bit heavy for it . So looking for something small and userfriendly .

Also open to ppl offering to take these laptops off me .

PuppyLinx is a good place to start, there is also a really non-X distro TiT Radio was talking about...

There's a scaled down version of ubuntu that's supposed to be good, try messing around with a few different versions like fedora core based ones etc.

Ok Will look at those , Also went a bit mad and got an CF to IDE converter and have put a 4gb CF into this and am going to use that in the NV5000(would have prefered a bigger CF disk but im not buying anything for this)

so a really small os is needed :D

If you don't have a proper firewall have a look at pfSence.

I've it running on an old IBM T40 using the onboard NIC and a RealPort PCMCIA NIC, works a charm.
