    Has rte finally gone mad?
Taxes are up but tax take is down. Spending is down but the deficit is higher than a year ago and worse than predicted a month ago. But it's all ok because it was 'expected'.
Just as we can't talk ourselves into a recession I don't think we can obfuscate ourselves out.

OP would you not go and commit suicide? theres nothing to worry about! Havent you heard we have turned the corner? On a serious note the tax take for Jan & Feb year on year is down a billion, or 18% this is a COLLOSSAL drop! There is nothing but negative factors on the horizon! Maybe Bertie could donate the €10,000 he won the other day to plug the deficit, seeing as he has to shoulder a large amount of the blame for the situation we are in today!
