Today, I luckily and randomly arrived at the bus stop at Ballyfermot just as a 76a pulled in. Its the first time in 3 years that Ive even seen a 76a/b/c in Ballyfermot, having tried and failed to catch it many times before. I was home in 22 minutes and it cut more than 90 minutes off my journey time, so Id obviously like to get it again in future.

The one I got today was at 12:30, which I assume is the bus that leaves the Square at 11:45. On the website it says that it is supposed to arrive at Ballyfermot at 13:30, so it was a full hour off. I assume it takes longer later in the day due to traffic ?

Does anyone know what times these buses actually get to Ballyfermot (the bus stop by the Tesco/college) as the times on the website seem to be totally inaccurate.

Actually the website says that bus calls at Ballyfermot at 1300 and Blanchardstown at 1330.

This is something that the DB timetables (particularly the 76/a/b) are very very bad at, as the intermediate times are totally off the wall and are as you rightly say completely inaccurate.

Personally, I would expect an 1145 departure ex-The Square to be in Ballyfermot some time around 1225ish.

As a guide, allow 40 minutes for buses starting at the Square and 50 minutes for those from Fettercairn or Balrothery. Obviously in the evening peak they will take slightly longer to negotiate Clondalkin and the Ballyfermot Road.
