Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey all. Just looking for some landscape photo location recommendations.

Myself and a mate have been driving around the last few weekends hoping to just happen across things, but it's been fairly hit and miss to be honest.

I'm based in Limerick, but don't mind driving for a couple of hours if I'm heading somewhere decent.

How about the Vee? That's a picturesque location, not too too far away from you.

I had great fun up in the Burren co. Clare, some strange Moon landscapes to be found there!

Passed through your way last weekend actually. Ended up in Connemara National Park in the end and all I got was a battering in the face with freezing hail  Also some pics of a friendly local dog and some rusty old boat :)

+1 for the burren and cliffs of Moher, lots of great landscape along the way. Not sure of many spots in Limerick. A good tip is type in limerick in flickr and see where other people have found good spots around the county.

Are you doing anything tomorrow or Friday? I have some shooting to do around Clarinbridge and Kilcolgan.

:rolleyes:Hi Gloobag, the trip to Clonmel is not too long. In Clonmel, look for the Loretto convent school/golf club road (gaz house bridge then straight ahead). You're heading up straight into the Comeraghs. There's a view point on to the Clonmel side, just after that, a sharp turn right, and you're on the scenic Comeragh road. Beautiful scenery up there. If you're up for more driving, keep on going (follow the scenic road signs), the whole drive is beautiful. When you reach a little metal bridge with a thatched cottage across, take a turn left and head to the Nire Valley viewpoint, it's breath taking on a good day.
The Mahon Falls (Dungarvan side) are also beautiful, rugged, and a great spot for scenery pics.
I've google mapped it to give you a better idea, hope the link works :
    http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=clonmel&oq=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Clonmel,+Co.+Tipperary&gl=ie&ei=XNaOS6bXN87__Qb_0P3fDA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBIQ8gEwAA
    Hth

checked link and it didn't show route : enter Nire Valley as destination 1, then add Mahon Falls as a second destination, you'll get the route.

Another note : the North facing side of the Vee (Galtee facing), with the little lake and rhodedendrons, can be quite dark. If you're headed that way I would aim to get there early to have a better idea of when the sun might hit the locations you like best, and wait (there's a coffee shop at Melleray's) if necessary. Gorgeous little pub in Greg's on the way back down towards Clonmel, take turn right to Newcastle, colourful green, blue paint and thatch, lovely for pics too.
