Well, what things do you like, help us narrow it down a bit.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Christ, it's not that complicated. Click the dropdown bar and select what forum you want to go to.

After Hours is most popular, welcome.

This is the most popular forum.

If you look at the words at the top of your browser window, those are the forum categories.

Find somewhere you like in Music or Cooking or anything like that.

There are hundreds of forums, we aren't gonna hold your hand to show you them.

Enjoy your time here, it's addictive, I advise going back in time and never joining!

One thing that might help is using the "boards beta" skin. This changes the menu at the top of the page, and it makes it much easier to see all the different forums available.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/profile.php?do=editoptions
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the "Forum Skin" box, and select "--Boards Beta" and press save changes.

The really happening spots here are the Genealogy and the Leitrim forums. Endless fun to be found there *.

    Hi OP,

    Welcome to Boards.ie.

I've moved your thread to newbies and FAQ because you'll get all the relevant replies here.

After Hours is the most popular forum for light hearted discussion.

Have a read of Newbies and FAQ and you'll get all the information you need.

Make sure to read the Charter of the forum you are posting in to make sure you're not breaking the rules.:)

Viewing the site through http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/ rather than just boards.ie might make it a bit easier to see how sections are laid out.

All you really need to remember is that each forum is it's own little world with it's own community. This means that posting something in for example "After Hours" may result in people telling you what a cool poster you are while posting the exact same thing in "Television" could result in you being banned from that forum. Each place has it's own rules but generally if you stick to the "don't be an a$$hole" rule you won't have to remember the rest of them :)

The most popular forums on the entire site are :

After Hours : This is where people come to discuss general issues, current affairs and what ever happens to be going through your had at the time of posting! Typical threads have titles like this :

James Bulger murderer Jon Venables returned to prison
Things to do before you die...
How do you approach the opposite sex?

While it can be a fun place, I wouldn't advise posting in here if you're looking for debate or a serious conversation. Not that it doesn't happen from time to time but threads can easily get dragged off-topic which tends to fustrate some of the newer posters.

The rest of the top 5 are :

    Soccer
    Motors
    The Cuckoo's Nest
    Poker

Some people will find a forum that they're interested in more than the others and rarely ventur out of there while others post all over the site. It's a big place but if you're looking for help on where to post a specific question then give us a shout in here and we'd be glad to help.
