Eurospar mix n match on Warsteiner & Budvar 500ml bottles

    Any 5 bottles for a tenner in my local Spar(Barrow st, Dublin). Looks good for a bargain, yeh?

    O'Briens also have Budvar, Staropramen and some other 500ml bottles @ 5 for €10

    No O'Briens near me but wish some Krombacher/Erdinger were included :)

    Not so long ago, it was possible to buy 24 bottles of Warsteiner for 24euro. Seems pricing has changed on these.

    Eh, did you read the title of thread?:rolleyes:

    Your deal was for 330ml bottles, these are 500ml bottles.

    Double the price for an extra 170ml, price has definately changed.

    Convenience is the key. It maybe cheaper in Tesco/Dunnes but walking around the corner to these Spars/Centra's equals out the travelling time, when its on offer of course :)

    long time since warstiner was €1 a bottle, that was back in the days when it was owned by inbev who own stella now its owned by gleesons who own bavaria who have decided to make it a "PREMIUM BEER"

    Staropramen used to be €1 for a 330ml bottle in tescos the odd time too. I remember having towers of crates to the ceiling the last time it was on offer, over 6 years ago now. Warsteiner was very common at €1 a bottle a few years ago.

    In my local eurospar, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9, its €10 for 5 bottles of Tyskie / Lech / Zywiec.

    Also, Im pretty sure the Swiss Cottage in Santry does the same deal.

    I just picked up 20 Krombacher 500 ml bottles for 8.50 in my local REWE in Duesseldorf ;)

    Erdinger and Paulaner are a bit more expensive at 11.50 for 20 500ml bottles :D

    Thanks for the info.

    Looking back, it probably has been a long while since I last got 24 for 24eur. That probably explains it. :(

    Hmm .. not sure ... just got a feckin bill from the City Hall for yearly charges .. so a bit broke at the moment :)

    Good times. Loved it in college. A lovely, lovely beer.

    It actually made me a bit sad reading this because I'd forgotten about it and how much I liked it. :(
