Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cheapest car available on the scrappage deal

I have a 98 Colt that is slowly dying, I thinking about trading it in or dumping it, either way I'm not interested in spending any more money on it.

The car stills runs ok and would be grand for a learner driver.

What is the cheapest possible car I can get if I traded it in?

Does the scrappage scheme apply to buying second hand cars?

Can I get a moped for a discount?

Are any scrap dealers buying old cars now?

The question really is can I get any money for the car?

Hmm, probably 5k more than I want to spend. Any other options?

Stick it on done deal at a low enough price. If it has an NCT it will sell. The say 2.5-3k should buy you a decent Fiesta or something. Nice Mondeo maybe if you fancy something bigger.

The main reason I say those two is that there is a good choice even at that price range and you should pick up a decent one fairly handy

Are any scrap dealers buying old cars now? Yes - you might not need to do this though if the car is a runner with NCT
