Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i am looking for a certain type of connector that can be used on internal hard drives that are taken out of a desktop pc. i wish to use these internal hard drives as external drives for backing up data. this connector should have a usb connection on one end and a ribbon, sata and molex connections on the other end of the cable. i have looked on ebay and can not find it. i have been into pc world and could not find one either.

i would appreciate if someone could give me information on how to find this connector either is a pc shop or online

You mean something like this http://www.usbsataadaptercable.com/
I don't think you'd find molex and a sata connection together as SATA hd's have their own sata type power connector (I'm open on correction to this)

I cant seem to find any,in the bit of searching I've done.

However,an option would be to pick up a HDD dock which you can plug the HD's in to :

That should work for you, however its expensive (€40)

    thanks for the replies

the connector i saw had all these connections on it. it was stupid of me not to ask the man who had it where he got it. that would have solved the problem straight away. i will keep my eyes open and hopefully will find something like it.

the sata connection is not very important at this moment in time but would be a bonus as that is the way the connectors are going. these hard drives only require a ribbon cable(IDE) and molex connector with a usb connector on the other end.

    thanks for the help anyway.

    will keep on looking

This should do the job. USB to IDE (2.5 and 3.2")and Sata
Comes with power adaptor also so no messing around with power supplies.
Cheap too. handy piece of kit.
    Good luck.
