OK - so I'm actually going to build 2 of these rigs - one with an i7 - another with an i5

Want both machines to last a few years - not going to be used for any intensive - mostly gaming and regular usage.

    Appreciate any input.

    ASUS Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0, "FORMULA", 2xDVI-I, native-HDMI, HDCP
Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower
    Corsair TX 650W PSU ATX
    Crucial DDR3 1333MHz 4GB KIT, CL9, Kit w/two matched DDR3 2GB, 240pin
    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, P55, Socket-1156
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA2 32MB 7200RPM
    Sony NEC Optiarc DVD±RW burner
Zalman CNPS10X Quiet CPU Cooler Socket 775/1366/1156,

Looks alright,I wouldn't go with the Formula coolers though.I'd get the Sapphire Vapor-X if your looking for a model without the reference cooler

And DEFINITLY dont get the CNPS10X.Go with the Scythe Mugen II.It will kick that Zalman around and is alot cheaper.

I got something very similar a week ago.

The coolermaster 212 is great - real quiet and keeps in in the low 30s for general usage.

ADATA ram is lovely...sweet packaging;) but i don't think theres a massive difference!

Not sure if you plan on overclocking the 5750, but at stock speeds its about the same speed as the last generation 4850

I recommend the 5770 for decent gaming

And of course the 5850 for quality gaming

Depends on the monitor. A HD5770 1GB is still pretty decent at most things at 1080p. A HD5750 is better off around 1680*1050 and below but as its an Asus if its cheaper than the HD5770s you can overvolt and OC heavily; so long as its got a 1GB framebuffer it should be pretty good even at 1080p with a speed boost.

Only catch is that a HD5770 is probably cheaper than an Asus HD5750 and requires little tweaking :o And the HD5770 Vapor-X is a heck of a lot quieter than an overvolted Asus!!
