Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Triumph Tiger 90 Question

    Hi all,

This is my first time posting in the Motorbikes forum so please, be gentle!

My best friend has a 1968 Triumph Tiger 90. Since he's had it, it hasn't run properly. The previous owner replaced the old points ignition system with a newer system and this has led to the trouble.

The bike won't start and also, he needs a few gaskets for it. It's been garaged for the past 3 years while he and his dad were working on it but no joy. It's a shame to see it locked up as it's an absolutely beautiful machine and needs to be on the road!

Any idea where he could get all the parts he needs?

    Cheers,

    Dave

    EDIT: It's a 1968

Ouch. Have you tried websites for owners clubs of the bike?

real shame to have it lying up like that alright!

I'd be on the lookout for some classic triumph forums with which to post up your q's... I think triumphrat.net has a section for that sort of thing

I reckon you're gonna need to find a specialist supplier though..! Maybe check the backpages of some of the classic bike magazines in easons etc,

classic triumphs have a big following, so should be plenty of help about

Thanks Wossack. He's had the bike since his 21st birthday. Given to him by his dad. He's now 23 and has been hunting for this kind of info for 2 years now. Whatever he's after seems to be well hidden!
