Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey Guys,

Thinking of buying a Merc and have a nice '01 C180 Elegance spotted for 3.5k. It has 100k mileage and NCT till sometime next year. Is this a reasonable price ?

If we do go to see it, Anything specific we should look out for with it ? I know the usual stuff to look out for, anything specific to Merc's or this model ?

    Thanks.

That engine is too small for it, its dog slow.
Check for rust, around the boot lock, and under the wheel arches.
Also check if the Autobox fluids been changed, should have been done twice if thats miles and not km.

Check the Aircon works and blows cold air fairly quickly, theres a fault with that year whereby it only blows hot air.

If it doesnt have a full service history walk away, all sorts of stuff can go wrong that is expensive to fix.

Personally i was looking at the C class and every single one i looked at had issues, they are rust buckets.

Check all the electrics, listen for knocking in the front, ball joints give trouble
