Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to get at the washer pump on the E90.
I've had a good look at it but can't really see anything too obvious looking.
Maybe someone has had experience with this before and has taken one and knows the best way to go about it.
Nozzles not blocked but no water still coming out.
Had a look around on the net but can't really find anything.
    Ta

The water bottle (and pump) is behind the driver's side front wheel buried in the wing (behind the side indicator). You have to take the wheel off and the wheel arch lining out to access it.

Windscreen washer not working is a common problem with the e9x. It's not the pump that's the problem but the filter at the bottom of the bottle is blocked. Either there's gooey stuff blocking it (from using screenwash other than the bmw stuff) or hardwater has caused the filter to block with calcium deposits.

You can try sticking a garden hose into the washer bottle to flush out the gooey stuff or if it's calcium deposits you treat it with some calgon tabs. If these fail you'll have to get at the water bottle/filter/pump from under the wheel arch.

Try going to a garage(or doing it yourself if you have access to a compressor) and asking them nicely to use an air blow gun to blow back down the lines this will clear the blockage in the gauze in the washer bottle

Before you try stripping out the bottle, remove the pollen filter housing and check for a loose pipe on the drivers washer jet - a lot easier to check than the pump filter and very problematic with them as well.

Thanks for all those suggestions. Will give them a try. So where is the pollen filter housing? Maybe it says in the manuel.

Open the bonnet and it's a big plastic housing under the wipers - held in place by six 8mm screws. If you google it you should come up with instructions, it is a very easy item to remove.
