Quick Back Boiler question

    Hello all,

I have an assessment with a solid fuel fireplace with a back boiler.

The DEAP manual gives the efficiency for the fireplace as 30%.

But for an "Open fire with back boiler (no radiators)" it gives 50%.

My question is what does the "no radiators" mean? Does it mean no rads in the dwelling, or that the back boiler does not supply the rads directly?

The 50% vs 30% efficiency is making a difference in the dwellings assessment, so an answer would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has an answer to this question. I was hoping to upload the rating today.

    Thanks.

It means the backboiler heats DHW only, not rads.
