Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He dropped his one yr old Acer Aspire One the other night and now it's in very bad shape.

The machine turns on but the screen appears all messed and cracked as if its like this inside the lcd, i can partly make out the Windows operating system so i think the hard disk is ok.

Can anyone please advise me if this is worth fixing or how or where could i source a replacement screen for it?

I might post a photo of it later. Any opinions appreciated.

tbh the price of netbooks nowadays are pretty low, and getting the screen replaced your looking at a possible charge for a diagnoses, the parts and labour etc, your probably best just getting a new one, maybe not as good spec. there's one on komplett.ie here thats very good value.

Whip out the HD (there will be guides online if your unsure), its destroyed as it is so don't worry about warranty or whatever with opening it! when you've got the HD, you could clone it over to the new one (easier said than done with windows AFAIK, mac is a dream!) and you'd be up and running. drivers could be a bit funky with a cloned system.

That seller is from www.ccity.ie - I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past. Screens are fine from there.

Give it a go OP it beats buying a new one.

If you buy the screen and are unsure of how to fit it, drop me a PM and I'll do it for free for you.
