    Hi guys,

I'd love to do a bit of volunteer work, preferably in Monaghan but Cavan would work as well.

I'm interested in volunteering with something associated with animals. Does anyone know of anywhere in the area? If not animals then anything else that you know of would be great :)

    Thanks all :pac:

maybe check the standard and call sharon mcnaulty. She does the pet section (i think) in the paper. She might be able to help you out

Old thread but as its been reopened by someone else I'll add as it may be useful in the future!

    Cavan SPCA
My understanding is that there is not one in Monaghan.

If your interested in a caring community role with humans instead of animals there is the Alzheimer Society in Threemilehouse (just about 5-8mins from Monaghan town). They are one of the only specialist alzheimer day care units in the North East. Id suggest contacting the mobile numbers on that site.

Civil Defence and the Irish Red Cross are options if your interested in caring from a first aid or ambulance viewpoint. The Red Cross I believe are in Castleblaney and Civil Defence operate throughout the county. I cant see a direct line on the Civil Defence website but call the county councils general line and they will pass you on.

The Town Council could be good people to contact for advice on organisations. Perhaps ring the County Council Office and ask for contact details of one of the town councillors in Monaghan or Clones?

Theres also countless football and athletics clubs in the Monaghan area. I imagine if you wish to contact them just google the sport!
