Sounds good. It'd be good for a new, less strict/more easy going charter to be done up as well I'd say

Theres no plan for large scale charter changes

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Then what's the point if it? It's too strictly moderated, too sensitive, too politically correct and there's no give or real sense of humor around here, imo anyway. I thought that was the biggest reason for wanting a change up?

To be perfectly honest, without a charter change it'll just be the same except without the "personal issues" keeping new posts around. I don't know what the appeal would be for new posters or maybe even a few regular posters in hanging around a bit.

Bar that I think the PI side of things would be in very capable hands.

There was never any suggestion from the mods of a large scale forum charter change or that AH style humour would become more regular in here.

Anyway I haven't seen any evidence of this theory that you have that there's no real sense of humour allowed around here.

But boards.ie is too moderated in general (in my opinion). It's not just the LGBT forum. Most forums except for AH are heavily moderated and that's just that. If you don't like it, go to a different site.

Little things and having a bit of a laugh can get something along the lines of "if you've nothing substantial to contribute, don't". The "breeders" comment stuck out a bit because it was clearly just a piss take, though people did report it for some reason so I understand that.

But whatever you think yourself because as I said, the PI side of things will still be good here.

The "breeders" comment was reported by a few people.

I haven't seen comments like "if you've nothing substantial to contribute don't..." so I'm not really sure what you mean?

Could you give some evidence where humour hasn't been allowed recently? I haven't seen anything but perhaps you have?

1ZRed, you keep talking about humour and a bit of laugh in the forum and that's fine, I am not strictly opposed to that.
But I'd suggest you keep in mind that not everybody is about fun and games and in a forum like this a "bit of laugh" or "a sense of humour" can easily be misinterpreted into something different and cause issues.

I may just be craving acceptance here but I think this forum IS actually quite humourous.

Being gay/trans is really what we all have in common. I don't really see how that requires us all be forced into some bizarre shared jollity. If something is funny then people will laugh, maybe even post a witty retort, but why should the charter be changed to allow more vulgar/gay-community self depreciating jokes?

I'm really more of a lurker on boards but I for one genuinely find the majority of AH style humour boring and irritating. If that's what you want here it would just be an AH of gay/trans people saying stuff straight/cis people can't get away with.

I actually find the LGBT forum to be quite ok, whereas I know that there is pretty much absolutely no point in posting in other forums as pretty much every thing is deleted, not just stuff that mentions people/places/businesses, but anything that is of a different opinion to that of the mods, and the mods in one forum in particular are of such similar mindsets that it's pretty much "agree with our comments or GTFO"... However, I know this is not the place to vent about other forums, and I will not say which one is the one that I am particularly unhappy with it (let's just say that it is a Munster county forum that rhymes with Kildare). But in comparison, LGBT mods are fairly ok. Would prefer a bit more of a lenient approach, but most certainly not the worst at all.

PRSI is the only real hit I'll take - no car, I rent my apartment, I'm not a student, I'm not a huge drinker, I don't have a condition which requires long-term drug treatment and I don't have any kids so I'm not getting hit by the worst cuts this time. Could have been worse.

I'm lucky at the moment that I'm only going to be forking out an extra €300 a year in PRSI. I also find, while it might be a rear thing, it would be cheaper to own my own home.

I have to pay tax on my 6 yoyo wage I start receiving in January. Waaaah.

Would be a good idea for all to check out and get set up with PAYE Anytime and even to see what tax credits you can apply for. Had my landlord sign my rent relief form to start claiming back on that too.

I'm not effected too badly apart from property tax.

I feel incredibly sorry for families in this budget. They will be impoverished through cuts in child benefit, back to school allowances, increases in prsi, increases in property tax, increases in college fees.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? My immediate thought was with regard duty on rolling tobacco, I won't voice it here but I don't think any favours have been done for revenue.

The recent interest in wine also amuses me, and what appears to be a very thoughtless perspective on student contribution at third level, after that I haven't sufficiently looked into the budget so I can't really comment, but my severe lack of income or expenditure means it doesn't actually affect me all that much.

    Basic overview:

The least well of and the middle class got raped, while the rich and high earning in society were largely protected, apart from the mansion tax.

On a side note Labour signed their death warrant as a party, despite voting labour consistently since I turned 18, I will never do so again. Eamon Gilmore is the new John Gormley. Bye bye Labour it's been nice knowing you!

Budget wasn't too bad for wide and myself. Think overall we'll be down about 700 euro per year. A kick in the shins yes but we'll manage.

Don't know about you, but a kick in the shines can really hurt sometimes :P

Melodramatic, untrue (a tenner a week for the average middle class family is "raped" is it? And of course, its middle income earners who were evading tax with AVCs to million quid pension funds was't it...) and missing a rather major issue - who else are you going to vote for?

Conservative Christian Democrats, economic illiterates of varying shades of green or a bunch of actual trotskyites?

The average family will be between 600-1000 euro a year worse off. A tenner a week would be a gift if that was the truth of it but that has to be reductionism taken to its nth degree. Everyone from pensioners, carers, social welfare recipients, average workers, everyone in fact except high earners! Labour just signed off on a Christian democrat budget so that's exactly who your voting for anyway! Labour will accept anything FG come up with, to protect the farce of Croke Park!

Check out Stephen Donnelys reply to the budget! Intelligent, insightful and more social conscience than the whole Labour Party combined could muster.

I wouldn't vote for Sinn Fein but they are closer to what labour is supposed to be, than what they have become. Champagne socialists and liars!
