Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thank you.

    I must say, I never thought of the awesome side effect of my handle change, now I can just be shortened to Baby and it's all good.

    I must say I'm liking it this year, my GF just bought me a vintage NES console for my collection, woop woop!!!

    Wow, you got it! Deadly! What games do you have? or is just for decor?

    Oh, look, also - IGN voted the NES numero uno out of the top 25 videogame consoles of all time (ie the last 26 or so years....:rolleyes:)

    I myself would fondly remember one of these babies - the original Euroean release of the SNES.

    But what I really, really want when we're talking retro gear is, of course, what I was never allowed have as a young 'un: A GAMEBOY!

    brand new baby - this is Eiko (it means eternal child - i may be asking for it with a name like that) she's been well socialised and looked after, shes also very playful and seems to have taken to me. shes curled up beside me. so now ive 3 cats and 2 dogs. i cant image a life without pets. i wont be expanding on it though! my eldest cat is almost 16, an old lady.

    heres Eiko

    Just for decor? SACRILEGE!

    She got it for me with Duck Hunt and Mario 3. ie THE BEST GAMES! I never had a gameboy either, but i'm building up to it. I collect them, and this is my 7th console, and a replacement for one my Dad threw out because he thought it was a broken VCR. :mad:

    @jaffacakes- I plan to! :cool:

    @Aishae- TOO CUTE!

    You have the coolest girlfriend ever! I'm never gonna be into gaming because every single console has been such a disappointment after the epicness of the NES. Super Mario Bros 3 and Megaman 2 are two of the greatest things ever.

    Oh and happy birthday. :)

    I read that completely wrong first...

    I went back to see your (very pretty) kitty collection. I don't remember Kittys in my Pockets but I do have a huge collection of Puppys in my Pocket toys somewhere which I now feel compelled to look for...

    I really can't decide whether I should bother going to the races tomorrow or not...on one hand, betting is fun on the other it'll be absolutely packed and it's ladies day which means dressing up. Hmmm....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,943 ✭✭✭wonderfulname

    You only have to dress up for ladies day if you're entering

    I know but I didn't last year and felt SO out of place and under-dressed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,943 ✭✭✭wonderfulname

    Ah just watch the girls in the six inch heels navigating grass and you'll soon feel comfortable in your under-dressedness. I've never understood dressing up for the races, the clothes just aren't appropriate for drinking and betting in a field.

    Too true. Also everyone ends up at Spanish Arch after and so inevitably ends up legging it from the Guards, really inappropriate clothing for that. :p

    So it's settled then, you're going in running gear?

    Haha, ladies that sounds like an epic night out in Galway. Scouting talent at the races and I'm not talking about the horses, then running through the city from the Guards. Sounds like fun :D
