It was interesting reading the abortion thread and spurred me on to having a conversation with some friends. I just realised what a crappy place the world is. We can abort life on a whim, we constantly wring our hands with the the thoughts of money, we cripple third world societies both economically and structurally through loan repayments and the sale of arms, we allow religion to fester spreading war and pain and we are becoming increasingly introverted with less thought on helping others and more on how we can help ourselves.

Here's what you should do:
Care less about it overall,
try and make your little corner of it a bit better by you being in it,
Finally,appreciate the high points even more because life's just a bitch at any oppurtunity.

Now the world is what it is and if you don't like it then take steps to improve it. Life's about challenges and sitting their whining about it will accomplish sweet feck all.

Yeah, the world can be a bad place. But by the same token, it's also amazing. If you start to think seriously about the basic facts of why you're even alive, it's insane- one out of a million or so sperm, born with a crazy circulatory system, various organs and a brain (stuff technology still can't recreate), with your height, the way you look etc. all basically mapped by your DNA before you're even born.

Then you factor in everything going on around you: all the people that have died while you're still alive for some reason, all the weird fecked up animals that walk/fly/swim around the place (some of those deep sea creatures are insane!), all the other people with lives going on being viewed from the exact same perspective and level of detail as you view yours, all the history of the world- it's mad.

Don't get me wrong, the world is a hard place to live in sometimes, but when you look at it for what it really is, it's hard not have your mind blown. It's nearly better not to think about, that's why people are always so pissed off at the world.
