Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spirit Level for Slik Pro500Dx

    Any suggestions for adding a spirit level to a Slik Pro 500DX - for some reason Slik decided not to include one with this tripod.

    I've seen the small cube spirit levels that sit in the hot shoe, just wondering if there are any options for this.

    Might be some added hassle, but could you stick the Joby gorillapod ballhead onto the top of your tripod?


    Im not familiar with the costs involved, but I do know the Gorillapod ballhead is about €50 so it may be too expensive.



    Edit; there are some hot shoe spirit levels on ebay for less than a fiver...

    Thanks, that Joby Ballhead looks like an interesting option alright. I have actually ordered one of the hot shoe cubes and just waiting on delivery but was trying to find something more permanent (without costing a fortune :))

    Looks like you can get the bubble level on its own for a fiver. May get one myself. Didn't realise you could buy parts seperately (i have two cameras and one gorillapod, so it'd make things easier for me, still not saying thats your own best option though)


    EDIT; Just bought one. €7.20 including shipping. Not too shabby. Last time I bought something off Joby (the ballhead) it arrived the following day. By no means am I expecting that again (I'm still not sure how it was even possible the first time) but I'm glad this thread popped up now. Never thought I'd be able to pick up a bubble level on it's own. Never thought to check the site.
