Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When a player Fails a late fitness test , what does it mean ??

what does the test consist of ?? like a mini circuit training ??

you would think pro footballers would never fail a fitness test...

They have slight injuries which do not heal, as hoped, in time for the match.

It's not a fitness test a such. It's more working the injured part to see if it will withstand the game.

It depends on the nature of the injury tbh, it might be a test of stamina, mobility, strength or even pain.

It's not a fitness test as in the player being up to a certain level of cardio fitness. It just means that the injury, whatever it may be, hasn't sorted itself out so the play would be unfit to play the game.

If they give you another painkilling injection your leg will go numb.

yeah, if its a knee injury for example, they'll work on the player sprinting and turning to see if there are any issues with mobility. Groin or hamstrings will get them to do some sprints to see if they pull up or the like...

ah cheers .... , i was thinking it was related to actual fitness as opposed to injuries..

There's a fitness level that players need to reach before they can be considered for a match, usually this is down during the close season or during an injury lay-off. This is not to be confused with "match-fitness" which is a strange kind of fitness which you can't achieve withotu playing a competitive match so paradoxically you are never match fit when you're playing you're fit enough to play your first match.

Then there's another fitness level which is decided by Danielle Lloyd.
