    Really?

He's on my fantasy football team I must shift him.

I think it will come down to bottle in the end. We showed it against Stoke and man city are showing it now.

I can see Liverpool going into either a spiral down or rally together and win like all there last games

Fulham have got a goal back. 1-2 now. A draw'd be nice.

    We're all in this psy-op together.🤨

No surprises today, I suppose. No matter what happens on Wednesday (City v Everton; Villa v Sunderland), the four biggies in April (vs Man U, City, Arsenal and Chelsea will decide it). Any news on Pavyluchenko? I never thought we'd be running out of strikers too!

No news on Pav yet. Probably we'll hear results of the scan tomorrow. Hopefully Gudjohnson can do a job in his absense and Defoe'll be back soon.

I Still can't believe that we can't recall Keane in times like this you'd wonder what the point of loaning a player is.

In saying that it will do him no harm finishing out the season out up there and hopefully banging in about 10 more goals and might be in good spirits coming back

    Thank you Sunderland and everton.

I have a feeling that Man City are going to free fall. To many players are there thinking they are too good for the 4th place struggle.

If it didn't go to us i'd like to see Villa get it but I can't see them having the balls either. I have an awful feeling it's going to be us and Liverpool going for it last day and my heart couldn't take loosing out to them.

Yep, we can't rule the Pool out. They've a handy looking run of games. Not too surprised with the City and Villa results but very happy.:)

Great results for us tonight. Great to be in the hunt for two honors this year. The fourth place run in is going to be nerve racking. I have attached a table of our final league games along with villa, city and the pool with possible points after each game. Underlined are away games but it is going to be close. I have been very generous to villa with 5 wins a draw and a loss and still it will go down to goal diff. What do ye think?

Just one of those rare great nights for Spurs in every department.
I'm off to bed with a smile on my face

I honestly can't see Villa winning so many games. They are the draw specialists this season - must be very frustrating for their fans. Unfortunately, even despite City's result last night, I have them pipping us and Liverpool by a point. I've kept things pretty conservative from our point of view with us only beating Portsmouth, Bolton, and Burnley, so any extra win is obviously a huge bonus.

    Spurs Villa City Pool
    55 51 53 51
    Portsmouth 3 Chelsea 1 Wigan 3 Sunderland 3
    Sunderland 1 Bolton 1 Burnley 3 Birmingham 1
    Arsenal 0 Everton 0 Birmingham 3 Fulham 3
    Chelsea 1 Birmingham 1 Man U 1 West Ham 3
    Man U 0 Portsmouth 3 Arsenal 0 Burnley 3
    Bolton 3 Hull 3 Villa 1 Chelsea 0
    City 1 Man C 0 Spurs 1 Hull 3
    Burnley 3 Blackburn 3 West Ham 3
    12 12 15 16
    67 63 68 67

Lads i do not even think about predicting the results. Lets just take each game as it comes, there will be plenty of twists and turns and shock results along the way. It should be some journey until May 8th :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

I think 66/67 points seems to be the fairest prediction for us. I can't see city doing as well as your saying though, too many player in it for themselves. I can see them dropping two points in their next three games.

If we could just pull two big big results out of the bag and put away the other teams I think it will be enough, at least 4 if not 6 points is needed from the next two games.

I'm into the perdicting game either but prior to the Blackburn game, Harry reckoned we needed 19points from our remaing games - since then we have won two - we are now down to 13 points needed. I still think there will be another twist before the season is out.

Just with the table above (not being a stickler) but you have City to draw with Villa and Vila to lose to city - couple of points swing there

Well we're(Villa) out, we've hit the brick wall in March again, its becoming like groundhog day now:o we still have some very tough fixtures to play too and i reckon everton will pass us out again!

I think Liverpool will sneak it, with some of your fixtures being really tough, best of luck though, i'd rather it was your lot than city or liverpool!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

If it makes any difference I would prefer to see villa get it anyday over them too.

Well spotted, thanks. Maybe that's one of the twists though ;)

What price Everton on 48 points winning 7 more games and finishing on 69 !!

They have a very handy run in and maybe should be considered?

If we cant beat Sunderland also we have no business in 4th anyway..

that comment means that arsenal shouldnt be fighting for the title either as sunderland beat them already this season

I don't agree with that. How many ex-Spurs players are on the Sunderland team? We just scraped past them earlier in the season and they'll be up for it. I'd love for us to win but I'm thinking that we'll draw against them. Anyway, there's a more important game tomorrow in WHL that we need to focus on first because if we don't win that, it hardly matters what we do against Sunderland.

I meant this in the context of a run in that includes 4 much tougher games. We need to be getting 3 points against Sunderland. Losing points there may leave too much to do.

a point would suffice on saturday in my opinion.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

If we could get three off the big boys and beat city I would take a draw too but while we are on such a run I would love to see us beating them seeing as Liverpool made easy work of them on Sunday.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,734 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

Just done the predictor til the end of the season on the bbc website there. I had us drawing with City and Sunderland, taking 4 points in the 3 games against the top 3 and beating Bolton and Burnley, and we came 5th behind Liverpool.

I don't think a point on saturday would be a disaster but it is one of our easiest remaining games and given the form we are in I am hoping for all three. The longer we can keep up the pressure on the chasing pack the better, and this game is vital given the fixtures following it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭slegs

Getting 3 points next weekend changes the dynamic of the run in as Liverpool and Aston Villa will stay 4-7 points behind us with less games left . If they get a sniff of us dropping points it will give them a boost. Realistically 3 points is the most we can expect from the 3 tough games (4 would be a bonus) and at that stage everything will have tightened up.

I am pretty sure we need 3 points this weekend.

I can't even face the thoughts of Liverpool still getting 4th.

Agreed, that would be sickening. Saturday's game is huge. If we win, we really are in pole position and can afford to lose to Utd (inevitable) and either Arsenal or Chelsea, though I don't think we're going to lose both the Arsenal & Chelsea games and there's definitely a chance that we can win one of them. As has already been mentioned, we need to look for maximum points in the other games, like Sunderland, Bolton, and Burnley. 9 points there puts us on 67, meaning another 3 would almost definitely secure 4th with 70 points.

The main thing is that even if we lose on Saturday, we're still in with a very good shout as long as we can get some points from the top 3.

Thats my thinking too. Id rather have some wiggle room in the matches against the top 3 though. Harry needs to make sure they have that frame of mind this weekend. This is the big game etc!
