I think that app is only for the ipad ATM.

Same here. I can get sound, no picture. Videos on youtube work fine.

Will try messing with the settings and see were it gets me.

I think I have tried every setting on tv out 2 and landscape. When I first used it last year it worked no bother!

Has anyone splashed out the $2 and tried Display out? It says it works with the original apple cables but I'm not too sure if it will work with my cr@ppy €3 cable!

It works! I downloaded tvout 2 on cydia but i don't think i had it enabled so god knows why it made a difference.

just skimmed through some posts in this thread am i right in saying anybody on 4.1 and not jailbroken can only get sound and not video connecting this to tv

should of put on my broken screen iphone which is on 3.13 and jailbroken

You can't jailbreak 4.1 yet and you can't connect the app to TV unless you're jailbroken so yes, you should have put it on your old phone.

3. Sky sports app +subscription on iphone
4. Better of playing the money for the offical apple cable...composite or component available..recommend composite as if you're staying in a hotel normally you can see the composite at the side of the tv so it's easier to get at than the component.

Nope you can watch it without the subscription

edit: actually, i dont know about existing sky customers who are using the sky player for free... i'm not a sky customer, just paying for sky player.

i have a dealextreme $5 cable and i can only get sound, no picture?
theres no mention of resupported either?
is it tvout or tvout2 or tvlandscape ?

Mine is a 3GS running iOS4 (4.0), jailbroken

I had a DX cable which used to work, but only gave picture and no sound.

The Tesco cable (<€30) gives picture and sound.

I'm using TVOut Tuner

im using an iphone 4 (4.0.1) with a cheapo €5 ebay cable, using tvout2 and it works fine for me

what you need from cydia is called Tvout2 Mirror TVOut

i bought this one, and going back to it today he's changed the price to £99! must be a mistake, id keep an eye on that one for him to fix the price and buy from him..was quick postage from the UK rather than getting one from china

Will these cables work on any tv? eg I have an old (bought about 5 years ago) sanyo widescreen tv which only has SCART and the white / yellow / red composite ports, and hence has no HDMI or usb ports of any sort.

I bought a similar cable years ago to connect my laptop to the tv - unfortunately only the sound (and not the picture) worked on the tv - presumably these cables will provide sound and a picture??

yeah they are composite cables, white yellow and red. Has worked perfectly on the 4 various age TV sets I have tried it on!

did u do the latest app update

the sky mobile app update makes it only work with ios4.2

No I still have the update symbol over my app store account. It's a strange one I just have a black screen perfect sound and the Controll bar pause refresh etc

Bit alarmist. It uses data, for sure, but it's nowhere near that bad. I used a gig watching practically all of 3 days of Ryder cup action on it.

In fairness though, the feed on sky would be more intensive. The price of a great picture quality.

true but just to let people know that watching a filmon stream isnt as heavy on data,tbh,with 1 bar of 3g coverage i could watch the game perfectly,no buffering or stopping.

obviously the sky feed is better,for €7 it'd want to be!!!

See they've bumped up the price to €10 a month from January. Glad I cancelled this month. A 43% increase!! What a rip. Don't think it's worth anything near that.

I only use it for ESPN matches but even so i still cant get head around watching it on small screen, and I usually get texts during it which pauses it.

you should get an email today with the changes in it, and it has a link to unsubcribe. I'd say they'll lose a lot of customers due to this.
