Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Took the idea from the Manchester United thread, apols if its done before.

What would be your ideal commentary and pundit combos?

I'd have Gullit, Merson, Dunphy and Redknapp (for comedy reasons) in the studio with good oul Bill

    Motson and Beglin commentating

    In the studio:
Kerr: great orator who always seems to be diligent in his research for a game.
Brady: great understanding and experience of the game plus an all round nice fella
Eamo: bombastic, over the top, opinionated entertainer - a must for any panel. Also, I agree with his fundamental opinions on how the game should be played.

    Commentators:
Hamilton: not too much hype like the sky and itv lot, but still keeps things ticking along nicely.
David Pleat: I like the way he analysises what the teams are actually doing, like tactics, formations and movement. He treats the whole thing in a serious manner without hype which is just right for me.

    Studio:

    Bill, Eamo, Giles and Brady

I honestly don't think it could be any more entertaining than that.

    Commentary:

Not fussed once it's neither Clive Tyldesley or David Pleat.

    That pair give me nightmares.

Ì've always thought Martin O'Neil has been excellent when doing studio analysis. Offers great insight and isn't affraid to disagree (such as the Rooney/Ronaldo incident) Also loved his 'congratulations' to Robbie Williams.

    Best Pundits:
    Entertaining Dunphy and Souness.

Giles has honesty of effort, but you're forgetting Gray has "Take a Bow son"!

Adrian Childs as host, Giles and Dunphy would have to get in. Then throw in Jamie Redknapp and maybe Pat Dolan or Phil Thompson.

Are you including Gullit, Merson, Le Tiss and Champagne Charlie in that?

Actually I'm changing my presenter to Georgie T or Charlotte Jackson

Bill, Dunphy, Brady, Giles and Souness all in a studio discussing Roy Keane, Niall Quinn, Saipan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. The sparks that would fly would be some sight to behold.

in the studio i would have, Jeff Stelling (just get him in there!) Eamo, Souness Strachan and Brady, quite like Dixon too

on commentary id love Chris Kamara! and ah well im not too pushed as long as its not Clive, Andy Gray or Pleat

Also, i would not have Gullit allowed access to the building, he is ****ing useless!!

I like the old RTE line-up of Bill, Dunphy, Brady and Giles with George and Jim Beglin on commentary.

I'd put Martin Tyler above George but I still think George is damn good.

    My nightmare line-up:

Host: That chap from Sellotanta. Pat's friend.

    Guest: Garth Crooks
    Guest: Ian Wright
    Guest: Ruud Gullit

    Commentator: Jonathan Pearce
    Co-commentator: Pat Dolan

Evanne Ni Chulaine and Natalie Sawyer presenting

    Eamo, Souness and John analysing

Mike Parry off Radio 5 Live or (and before the know alls kick off, I know he only does the rugby, but he's my favourite Irish commentator) Michael Corcoran off RTE1 commentating. I didn't think it was possible to listen to rugby on the radio until he came along.

I'd like to see La Liga expert Eamonn Dunphy make the step up to Sky for their Live game analysis and Revista shows.

Joke Pundits: Wright, Schmeical, Adams, Redknapp, Crooks, Ardiles (might be good, but i can't understand a word he says).

Comedy: Any of the above + Dunphy

Good pundits: Hansen, Giles (great analysis, **** research), O'Neill, Brady, Dixon...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,267 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Studio: Stelling, Souness, Brady and McManaman (may seem odd but I think he's a good pundit).

Commentary: Alan Greene and Jimmy Armfield from BBC5Live.

Terry would rip into him after his first cliche. Though, I imagine Guillem and Dunphy would be pretty entertaining.

I'd love to see Dunphy on Football Italia. His Italian clichés are atrocious and, again, James Richardson would have seen right through him.
