Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 POSTs, 1 Boot (ASUS P6T)

    Hi folks,

Is there any reason why sometimes my board will cycle through 3 POSTs before actually showing the POST screen?

I mean, you turn it on, it will beep, and nothing appears on-screen. Then it goes in for round two, same again, nothing appears on-screen. Then a third POST beep is heard, and seconds later the POST screen appears and it boots as normal without any visual warning.

I am overclocking to 3.2GHz on an i7 920, and my memory is Corsair DDR3-1600MHz:
    http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/TR3X6G1600C9.pdf

It doesn't happen on every boot, and it's not a C.P.R, as the PC is usually plugged in. Sometimes it may happen on a regular Windows restart. Also, it's happened when I've used the stock clocks and Auto settings across the board in Ai Tweaker.

I've never seen this before, so I'm hoping there's a good logical reason for it.

Right now, I'm using X.M.P with my memory. QPI Voltage is 1.35v and the DRAM voltage is 1.66v (auto set in BIOS). I have the Vcore set at 1.625v and Load-line Calibration disabled. I also have Spectrum Spread disabled for both the CPU and PCI-E slot. The PCI-E clock is set at 100MHz, the default, and the CPU requires a DCLK of 160MHz to get to 3.2GHz. The temperatures are fine, they idle in the 30's.

    Here's a screen-shot of latest version of Everest's CPUID:

If there's more info that you need, then I can provide it.

    Please help if you can!

    Many thanks.

I had this on my e6600, I found I had more success when I lowered the multiplier and raised the FSB.
    so 8 X 400 was more likely to boot than 9 X 356.

No can do. The i7's have a locked multiplier, until you get to the Extreme Editions. Thanks anyhow, I might have to play around with other settings, I just don't know what just yet...
