From what I remember Jericho says in his first book that his pearl jam ripoff theme in WCW was some stock music that TBS used for sportsads or something so I'd imagine WWE don't own it Turner does hence the dubbing over on the network? Merely a guess as opposed to an answer.

Was there ever any word on what the plan was for /Edge/Y2J when they won the tag titles? Edge got injured the week after the won and we ended up getting Jerishow. Did they ever have a plan?

AFAIK the end plan was always DX getting the tags belts at TLC

Q: What is the largest number of entrants that were in the ring at once during a Royal Rumble match?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Not too sure of the answer to that but I know there was a 41 man battle royal on Smackdown a few years ago which was purported to be the largest in WWE history. Here it is.

What wrestlers have eliminated themselves from a battle royal or Royal Rumble, without being under orders from someone else?
I remember Gail Kim eliminated herself from a divas battle royal once.
And think The Great Khali did it unintentionally when he stepped over the top rope as normal to get out for some reason.

    Any others?

At this moment in time which company would be worth more if they were both sold - WWE or UFC?

I remember Ahmed Johnson doing it. Charged in, eliminated Faarooq, jumped over the ropes to go after him some more :pac:

Kane I'm pretty sure has done it too.

Traci Brooks did an hilarious one in TNA a few years ago. Got drop kicked in the back, hit the ropes but didn't go over, so she actually climbed over to eliminate herself.

That’s a peach of a question. Hopefully somebody finds an answer.

I’d say WWE just pips it. WWE's TV deals alone seem whopper compared to the UFC.

I remember seeing a video of Santino throwing himself over the top rope, maybe when he entered the ring and knew he had no chance or something. Thing is I can't remember if it was on TV or a fan video of a house show.

    Edit: House show

impossible question to answer as one is a family owned public company while the other is a privately owned subset of a casino holding company. when wwe were valued at close to $3 billion in march vince didn't sell a single share which tells you everything.

ufc have probably more room for expansion in the short/medium term so will be more profitable over the next 5 years. however ufc have over $500 million in debt weighing the company down whereas wwe have basically zero debt on their books. wwe have way more physical assets (titan towers, fleet of trucks, private jets) whereas the majority of real assets owned by ufc are the name and the fighters

The time at the Royal Rumble when Batista and Cena both eliminated each other, was that a botched ending? I thought I heard Cena say it was.

Wasnt sure where to post this but I thought Id throw it up here.

Its my Birthday on the 7th of August and Mrs Beakerjoe has been for the last 6 months sneaking around looking for a cool gift. SHE FOUND THIS a few months back : http://pse-wrestling.catzclub.co.uk/full-day-experience.php

Its basically a "be a wrestler for a day" experience!

I never knew such a thing existed but there ya go. Now Awesome Wrestling has now folded since August 2011 so this isnt available anymore, however, she was looking for something like this else where. Yesterday she gave up and told me and asked if there was something I may know. Shes had no luck, so I thought Id ask you guys if anything like this was available anywhere within Ireland or even in the UK

mainstage wrestling run training classes for all groups from beginners up so if you want to give it a go get in touch with them if you are dublin based and then there is fight factory pro wrestling as well around the cork area i think. all of which you can pay for yourself and then tell her to get you a wrestlemania package :D

    and happy upcoming birthday

Around the time Smackdown came along. So 1999 or so.

Add Mil Mascaras in Royal Rumble '97 to the list. He didn't like to do jobs and was unwilling to be eliminated so he did his crossbody dive off the top to the outside.

    Yes, they legit screwed up.

Rock and Big Show sort of screwed up at Rumble 2000 with a similar spot of both guys going over together with Rock's feet touching the floor first but he managed to hang on and make the save.

They did a similar thing at Rumble '94 with Lex and Bret but that was a work.

Probably around Autumn 1999 when Smackdown premiered. TVs were Monday (live) and Tuesday (tape); the Tuesday taping was used for Raw is War and then as today it is the day when Smackdown is taped.

Very thoughtful and unique gift to find but I'll probably be a bit of a killjoy and say the present sounds a lot better than it actually is/would be. I trained for a few weeks with one of the schools and the main thing I took out of it is just how difficult wrestling is. The first few class are spent on backbumping and rolling which is the base most moves in wrestling. This is surprisingly tough.
Really burst my bubble that It wasn't moonsaults and powerbombs too quickly.

Nip down to Mainstage or FFPW for a look and see what it's all about. All the trainers are great and will give you nothing but time.

About 2 thirds of the way through 1998 they dropped the division ie having the "war zone" as hour 2. It wasnt announced or anything, they just started referring to Raw as the war zone.
