I didn't start turning my own life around until about a year ago, and he is probably only about a year younger than me. However, do celebrity children find it more difficult usually?

I think in some cases they do, especially if they follow their parent into the same profession, you'll always be compared to your Dad or Mam. Although in wrestling guys like Rock and Cody Rhodes seemed to carve out their own niche and didn't rely completely on theirs father's name and rep.

You use Cody Rhodes as an example before Randy Orton?

Yeah I'd forgotten about Randy, his character is so stale these days that he slipped my mind. There's no doubt though imo that he has surpassed his father and grandfather at this stage. What he lacks in personality he makes up for ten fold in ring ability.

Why did Foley & Edge go over Funk & Dreamer at the second One Night Stand PPV? Seems odd booking, to keep Edge strong?

Funk and Dreamer had zero long term value to WWE, whereas Edge at least did.

Exactly. The loss wouldnt matter either to the feel of the show as RVD going over at the end would result in any loses/wins consequences being forgotten.

Why was Sammartino able to have such insanely long title reigns?

    1. Bruno is the #1 Top Draw in wrestling history. (No hyperbole - this is based on gates/ratings the wrestlers drew as main eventers, according to Dave Meltzer, the most respected, credible reporter in wrestling)

    2. I can't personally speak for his wrestling skill and charisma, but he is lauded for having both in spades. I can tell you that despite having retired for years & just showing up at WM1 as a manager for his talentless son David, he got one of the biggest pops on the show.

    2. He was champion in the 60s & 70s, when WWWF was just a regional company in the north east. WWE did not go national until the mid-80s under Vince McMahon Jr. The primary format not being an episodic TV show lent itself to much longer reigns. He was also popular enough to warrant it, both Vince Sr. & his paying crowds did not want it to end anytime soon.

    Hope that helps! :)

They ran the promo videos for two weeks and then stopped.

Speaking of Powerslam, how long has Maffhew be doing the videos section of the magazine? Just noticed he writes it today :P

You could get the print version at very specialist stores in America on occasion at best.

Evening everyone. My bro is after asking me about an injury incident in the last 6 months. I cant remember it exactly but here goes.

Can anyone remember Ziggler getting injured after a backdrop gone wrong by someone? The only other info i have is that his opponent was apparently a 'big unit'

I think it was Ziggler and Sin Cara from MITB

Thats the one that i said but that was off the top rope wasnt it?

The bro is adamant that it was a regular backdrop gone wrong. To be fair couldnt have been any one of a number of ziggler matches

Sounds more like Cody Rhodes getting injured taking a backdrop from Kane on Main Event a while back:

I just read that a DUI can cause you to be refused entry to Canada, as its seen as a serious offence regardless of the travellers intention to drive or not while there.

How do wrestlers get around this? Surely half of them have at least one by now?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,464 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

I've never heard of someone being denied entry because of a DUI. I know Truth and MVP used to have problems due to the fact they did time in prison.

Presumably though, given they are famous and WWE is rich, exceptions can be made if WWE apply correctly and take responsibility....
