Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

External HD / Media Player suggestions

I'm looking to get a new External HD (1 Terabyte) however I'm also looking at the possibility of getting a Media Player - never had one of these, so they're completely new to me!

I've been reading some really bad reports concerning Seagate/Western devices so I'm not too sure about getting one of those if it's going to die on me someday and take all my data with it!

The LaCie 1TB HD designed by Neil Poulton has caught my eye, very stylish and not too bad price wise.

I've also seen the 1TB LaCinema Classic HD Multimedia High Definition Media Player, however it's twice the price of the HD mentioned above - worth it?

Do I get just an external HD or go for a media player (I will be using it for a lot of music/movies) so I'll be wanting something that can handle mkv's/vob's and the likes...

    Any advice appreciated guys, thanks!

Go for the WD-TV or the Live version which has networking. You need an external hardrive. Alternatively the Popcorn Hour A110 (more expensive as far a I know)
