Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is going to be a close game. My heart says 2-0 United, my head says 2-2 or 1-2. I really think Milan will be fighting for their lives and it might be a bit too much on United's defence. Alot depends on Park again tonight, after Rooney he is my first choice for these games. Such an underrated player and very rarely disappoints. COME ON UNITED.

Any news on the Milan lineup by the way? They'll probably go with 3 in the middle again, Pirlo, Ambrossini, and Seedorf/Gattuso?

    Love Clyde, hate Jim Belgin.

Clyde is always good for a "Ruuunayyy" when Wayne scores, and who can forget "Beckham, into Sherignham, AND SOLSKJAER HAS WON IT!" Everytime i hear his voice it reminds me of that.

    Confirmed team:

    VDS-
    Neville-Vidic-Ferdinand
    Scholes-Fletcher-Park
    Valencia-Rooney-Nani

    Noooooooooooooo not Neville. :(

Guessing park will be in the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,432 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

quite happy with that, always said Park plays his best through the centre although I hop there is a lot of roaming between him and Nani

Neville... I can see why Fergy would do that, but at the same time I can really see it backfiring.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

United should learn from the Chelsea Liverpool saga last year that just because you take a lead into the home leg doesnt mean its a done thing

Gary Neville at RB. Oh lordy...

Not mad about that team :( Woulda liked to see Rooney rested unless needed

Nice attacking line up that is. Very happy with that.

Not a bad selection imo, I'm not overly worried about Neville on the right.

Some day I'm going to read the words to the CL theme, every time I hear it, I sing in my head "These are the champions... The champions!" then at the end, "The Champions League... is awesome!"

You would think RTE could afford to send Billo and the boys to Old Trafford for the broadcast.

The Milan team are capable of upsetting the odds against that utd team. They will of course need an early goal and Ron. running at Neville should be interesting. Over 90 min Utd should score which should be enough. I cannot see Milan scoring 3 , 2 yes but not 3. I hope they do get an early goal to make it interesting. An early Utd goal would take the wind out of Milans sails and make for a boring game. It won't be plain sailing for Utd despite their lead.

I think he likes to just add in a little reality check.

He's had a handful of good games over the season.

But a lot of his performances were mediocre with little end product.

I think he has a point, but on current form it's a bit harsh.

I think he going to be on the sideline.

George Hamilton is doing the commentary.

I am Glad Neville is playing, he is still better than Rachael, Rachael is way overrated and make loads of mistakes, he was the cause of seedorf getting milans second goal

    Bill got Dunphy right good

What do you mean by that?
Dunphy spouting on that it's the end of an era. Bill says you said that a few years ago after the defeat by Benfica. Dunphy goes well they have extended that.
Giles goes fans never own clubs. Bill goes Barcelona operate that model and John backtracks and says I'm talking about Utd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

I think the main poing Bill was getting across was about the possibility of altruestic investors being out there to save United.

As a Cork City fan and I'm sure fans of Portsmouth, Chester etc. can tell you they don't exist. Think the panel got that point across.

Fair play to the RTE lads, and Eamo in particular, discussing, in detail, the debt issues. They got a few details wrong but, in truth, it's a very complicated situation to discuss live on tv.
