what mobiles work in US

Hello Planning trip to USA in 2 weeks, heard that only triband mobiles work in States. How can you tell if mobile is triband ? Would any of these phones work in US ? LG Cookie, Samsung SGH-U800, Sony Ericsson K750. Thanks
