A new Irish race series aimed at road based saloon and hatchback cars has been announced for 2010. The series, which will hold at least 6 races in Ireland in 2010 kicks off at Mondello Park, County Kildare on April 4th.

With 15 teams and drivers already signed up for the first race the ITCC looks set to be one of the most popular classes for both competitors and spectators. Aimed at both established and novice racers the series has already attracted entries from such teams as Tuning Factory Racing, Urban Performance, J-Stone Racing, JOMO Engineering and Westward Engineering to name but a few. It has also proved successful in attracting a host of new comers to the sport, most taking the step up from track days.

The class is open to any make and model of saloon or hatch back car. The openness of the rules means the first race will boast a grid consisting of BMW, Peugeot, Mazda, Honda, MINI, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Ford, Renault and other well known marques

Each race will have 10 trophies up for grabs with the top three finishers in the Two Wheel Drive Cup, Four Wheel Drive Cup and the Rookie Cup taking home prizes. There will also be a Hard Charger award for the driver of the day, which will be decided by the series sponsor!

So if you have a car lying in a shed somewhere and want to race it, or simply want to be entertained by the sight of up to 25 saloon cars fighting for track at over 100mph be at Mondello Park on April 4th. Either way, you won’t be disappointed!

For further information and a copy of the series regulations please email info@itcc.ie or visit the series website at www.itcc.ie which will be launched shortly
