Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

First time poster in here, so hi everyone :)

I've been building/upgrading/messing with computers for a long time now, my latest machine I managed to fry either the motherboard or the processor so I went out and got a new processor (i7 860) and mother board to go with it here

Of course, being an idiot I got the wrong system board for my existing case and configuration, I could go off and buy a new board or I could change my configuration/case. I have dual Geforce cards linked via SLI, but I figure as I now play most of my games on my Xbox (sorry) or just play counterstrike, I don't need both cards anymore and a file server would be better use to me with occasional gaming use

So, I'm looking for a case that will take this system board (and processor), a Geforce card (1 as the system board will only take the 1) and my 4 drives, ideally I would like it to run quite as I think I'll use it as a media server for my house so I wouldn't like it making too much noise as where it will be located is the room next to my bedroom

    Thanks in advance

What I'd recommend is Pacifico's case - you can see pics of this slick build here

I didn't realise how clean and tidy this case is - and you can get it sound proofed from caseking.de (Peats might order this in for you if you ask them nicely).

Seeing as thats a micro atx board (right?) you could be open to all the nice htpc cases

I was reading other posts and the Cooler Master is getting great reviews by you all, I see ebuyer have a Special Offer for the 922 and 1000w quite power supply, would this be overkill? I'm thinking of protecting myself for future upgrades, I'm worried that with that powerful a power supply that it'll be very loud.

Will I have to get any cooling kits with that offer to make sure it runs nice and cool?

Massive overkill unless you want to run 10 hd's, 3 or 4 gpu's etc...

    a 650 watt might be a good middle ground - http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=340676
This is a rebadged seasonic and a fantastic psu.

I should have mentioned that I have a XiFi fatality sound card so I need an extra bay in the front. Will I need additional cooling for the processor (all I have is the processor on it's own)
